World Class means he would get into a World 11. He's nowhere near.
He can play, he's powerful and a good passer. But he's slow on the ball and, I think, out of position where he is. I'd go as far as to say then when all our players are fit he may have to step down.
I'm not doing him down, I'd love to see him in a 4-4-2.
Disagree.
Most would consider the following World Class centre midfielders
Xavi
Iniesta
Fabregas
Sneijder
Nasri
Essien
Alonso
Now theres 7 players who just popped into my head, theres many more, they cant all play in your World XI so which ones are not World Class?
For me World Class means someone you would consider to be up there with the very best and would get in most sides in World football. As Yaya played a lot of games in what for me is the best football team I have ever seen that makes him World Class.
I do agree that he is being played out of position though, he should be playing instead of Barry and Silva should be playing in Yayas current advanced centre midfield role instead of playing as one of the front three.
Premiership class means good enough for a premiership team
International class means good enough for an international team
World class means good enough for a world team
That would be my definition and surely is the logical one.
But it's a meaningless fan term in reality, I concede.
I'd like to see Ya ya in your holding role but I don't think his tackling is up to it, personally. I know he played there for Barca but it was widely reported not to be his preferred position.
I agree wholeheartedly, though, that he may need to step down for Silva or even Tevez when everyone is fit.
I don't think he's that good if I'm brutally honest...
