Milner>>>>>Barry

As appose to Barry who does everything 6/10, at one pace (super slow) and offers less then Milner

Barry has been decent this season (barring Villa.) Whilst I want to see Milner given a go in the centre to offer more energy, I think you severely underrate Barry.
He does a job, a disciplined and steady job. But Milner is an ultimate professional, he will do Barry's job and put his own Milner take on it, which will mean what Barry does, with energy, forward runs and goals

We need an upgrade on both.

Barry is a good passer and has excellent positional discipline, but his lack of pace is embarrassing.

Milner is a decent central midfielder in a 4-4-2 formation, which plays on the counter. His main attributes are his stamina and long range shooting, but he doesn't have a lot else to his game unfortunately.

From what i hear from some people on here its amazing that Milner could play football in the lower leagues let alone have cost over £40 million in transfers

But what do MON and Bobby know about football

True, if we get an essien, a lampard, a gerrard, a fabregas then that will significantly improve us. That being said, united haven't got a midfield any better than ours yet they seem to be doing fine. We shouldn't actually need a box to box in our system, as with De jong holding and Silva attacking we jus need someone to sit in the middle and distribute really, with a bit of added energy.

Agree with Ntini here.

I think Yaya is World Class.

I think Silva is World Class.

You could say that as far as defensive midfielders go NDJ is World Class.

Barry and Milner are nowhere near this level.

Barry is far too slow and for me offers nothing going forward and very little defensively, he is basically a 6.5/10 performer most weeks. 6.5 every week is ok if you are trying to finish top 6 but when your aim is a minimum of top 4 it just doesnt cut it.

Milner just does not have the technical ability to look good in a team that tries to play controlled, possession football. NDJ, Yaya, Silva barely give the ball away, Milner barely keeps it.

Barry and Milner would both be benched if it were up to me and my midfield 3 would be this

----NDJ----Yaya----
-------Silva---------

I've said it before on this thread and I'll say it again. There is no way Ya Ya is anywhere near World Class. Tevez is close, Silva isn't far behind but Ya Ya, no way.

Yes Ndj, yaya and silver are world class players but they cant play every match as we have pretty much a match in mid week as well as weekends and thats where barry and milner can coke in theyvcan be subbed.

Hes been in Barcas team Dave and he would walk into any midfield in the Prem. I think over the past couple of months Yaya has been very very good for us! The guy is a beast!

Yaya, on his day, has the potential to be near those two, but he doesn't do it often enough. His passing, close control and runs can be considered world class, but this isn't consistent enough. Sometimes he just runs into players, so I question his football brain; the amount of times he ran into Vidic against United was a bit embarrassing. He had a great November and December, and scored goals too. He isn't world class, but on his day he is a very good player.

None of that makes him world class.

World Class means he would get into a World 11. He's nowhere near.

He can play, he's powerful and a good passer. But he's slow on the ball and, I think, out of position where he is. I'd go as far as to say then when all our players are fit he may have to step down.

I'm not doing him down, I'd love to see him in a 4-4-2.
