Milner [Merged]

One 'epic' throw-in and a handful of long-shots doesn't make him a 'legend' in the making.

We're getting shafted in this deal, as fucking usual. I watched Milner a lot last season, and I just don't see the point of this transfer. We have absolutely no versatility in midfield. It's either destructors like De Jong, or box-to-box players. We have no metronome to set the tempo and rhythm of our play.

villa fan in peace lads,
firstly you guys seem to think all your getting for you money is a work horse utility player, Jimmy Milner is much much more than that. He has been raised as a winger but since O'neill switched him to centre mid he's been a revelation, he's got the best engine in the prem, he's still making sixty yard runs in the 93rd minute, he's got great vision for a through ball, can shoot from anywhere, and because he was a winger he ghosts past people in the middle of the park like they're not there and when he drops wide to help out your wingers he can put in great crosses with either foot ( yes he's two footed left or right makes no difference to jimmy) i'm qualified to tell you this as i've watched nearly every game he's played for the villa, you guys are basing your knowledge on MOTD highlights you just haven't seen enough to analize his game, trust me your your getting one hell of a player who's just gettin better and better god knows how good he'll become training with your squad! in the long run 18 mill and Ireland will seem a bargain and it aint like your stuck for the dough is it.

so what are we getting in Ireland? I thought he was class two years ago, but i've seen a lot of players over the years who were class two years ago who disappear never to be seen again......villa signed most of em.

Anyway good luck with knocking them big headed bastards up the road down a peg or two, I for one cant wait to see old purple nose's face when they're not even the best team in manchester

Thanks pal, wouldn't be sorry to see City and Villa break up the Sky 4 bollocks.
I think Ireland needs to feel wanted and MON will be the man to sort him out.

I really dont think having a sexually confused folklore character will add too much to our side.
I think that's why the mad leprachaun is going in the opposite direction.

villaparkb6, Hiya!
Discounting his very dubious Username BBS has basically put it in a nut-shell.
Speaking of which you might want to keep an eye on old Stevie as, mentally, I don't think he is playing with his boots laced up!

what do you mean "dubious"?

I hope this is a windup we have lots of versatility in midfield and yaya is the metronomic player of which you speak.

Thanks for your view on Milner. I'm very keen to see him at City.

What do I think of Ireland? Depends when you ask the question.

Two years ago, most City fans thought he was too lightweight for the Premiership and he was strongly linked with Keane at Sunderland, but after a famous kickboxing Summer training regime he had a fantastic season. He benefitted from the space he got from the attention defenders gave to players like Robinho and Petrov but deservedly he won Player of the Year.

He's very good at making late runs into the penalty area, and is a very intelligent short passer who can slip forwards in. Agbonlahor will love playing in front of him.

But last season he had a 'mare. No one really knows why. His season started badly after some illness. The manager changed, and maybe the new boss just didn't rate him. He kept getting picked because he was about the only attacking midfielder we had on our books, but his performances were dire. I think his confidence was gone

This season I and many other fans have high hopes for him, and we wouldn't really want to see him go. But for me if it's the only way to get Milner in then I'd want it to happen. City have some good young individual players in Johnson, Weiss but we need high intensity players like Milner.

I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that Ireland will agree to leave City

what do you mean "dubious"?[/quote]

Well one thing He was a tin pot general using the club like his own personal fiefdom.
The second and some might say the most important thing is.......He's dead!
Now unless you are some kind of necromancer I'd say that adds up to a big bag of dubious!

:P

I think the word you are looking for is irony - I spent most of my formative years demonstrating against the man, and as you say he is dead, so it is of course not possible to bring him back (thanks for telling me that though, most considerate of you), so as I said the name is mild irony, like a guess a lot of the names and posts on here
