johnmc, if we won the fa cup 1-0 with a penalty, would you be that fussed? doesnt matter how you get your goals.

My point is that people justify the fee with him supposedly adding to the goal tally. which he wouldnt do if he came in my opinion. If you take the pens out he scores less than 5 a season. He wouldnt take pens here. Just pointing out that he doesnt produce as much as i would like. How many goals and assists will Johnson get next year? ill bet if both stay where they are Johnson will do better.

In answer to your question no of course i wouldnt be fussed.

Playing with better players will help maximise his goal scoring potential, after all, lampard wouldnt score all them goals playing for stoke.

No second bid has gone in yet, the story is bollocks. He is no closer to us than he was a week ago.

Sounds to me like Mr Lerner and Mr O'Neil are desperate for some of our cash...

Quite. Evidence, if it were needed, that our transfer dealings this summer are rather cuter, as SP would no doubt put it, than they were last season.

It's simple really. Villa need to speculate / realise what is of more value to them. The player or the money.

Not sure about this one mate, the Mail tends to be the paper that City leaks turn up in first. I have a feeling that we're playing silly buggers here (but that's unfounded, wild speculation)

Spurs Fans think he's off to them actually, there ITK's rekon its close to being done.

any clues on the fee ?

They don't know, but they seem very excited about signing him.

There best chance to strengthen in years and there excited about signing a player who didn't even finish the season as no1 choice right back or centre back for us. Very strange indeed, his potential is there, but his footballing brain isn't. Still only young but considorring Boateng is also the same age (or close) it puts into prespective the amount of experience Richards should of had by now.

It sounds like we're playing silly beggars with everyone this summer...;- )

As long as we don't miss out on players because of too much bartering, I'd rather we did business this way than the way we did it last summer.

Only City could cock up having an unlimited transfer budget. £28 million is a ridiculous figure, that kind of money should be getting us established proven top class internationals. I think Milner will make a good squad player but if we wanna make the top 4 we need more quality in the middle, a little finesse, not just graft!

Possibly, Possibly not. Berbatov scored more at Spurs. You could argue that Carew was a proper target man and therefore wouldnt get as many assists with Tevez and Adebayor.

Impossible to say.

Just out of interest....similar type players (ish)
