Don't the pundits always say look at the players on the bench for the opening match to see who's gonna challenge for honours? CBA myself but who will the subs. likely be at Spurs, anyone?

Ade or Balotelli
AJ
SWP
Barry
Toure
Zab
Given

That's alright.

Looks good enough to me - PL experience with a mix of versatility and impact players!! Would be the envy of pretty much every team in the PL.

that back for are better than most.

totally agree but still not good enough to win the league imo.

at the end of the day chelseas defense was very average last year and they won the league, united have come second with players like wez brown and evans in there back four, our back 4 is good as both of theres, that is if we get kolarov signed

Would you describe BCFC as a big club? They were 14th on the attendance list, finished 9th & scored 55 goals (52.65 was the average), they're pretty average tbf?

Mate, it's only my opinion. Totti has not done it outside of Roma.

I believe De Rossi, for all his loyalty, will go the same way. If I was to compare Totti to anyone in England in recent years?

I would have to say somebody like Dirk Kuyt.

I know Italian football. My first World Cup was 82.

I consider people like Bergomi, Paolo Rossi, Gentille, Nesta, Baresi, Costacurta, Baggio, Vialli, Maldini, Donadoni.

These are truly world class Italian players.

That World Cup must surely be remembered for the fact that the best team I have seen not winning the World Cup , fair play to Italy like

MCFC OK

Very true, the greatest team I have ever seen in my lifetime.

Zico, Falco, Junior, Socrates - AMAZING.

It's only in recent years that I discovered the format was a little different then in terms of qualifying.

Typical Brazil, they didn't need to go for the win against Italy, and got done by Rossi.

Zoff made an incredible save in the dying minutes.

Broke a seven-year-old's heart.

Firstly, Barry > Milner (think back to when we bought Barry). Moreover, would you ever think of replacing Barry with Milner in the England team at CM? Secondly, Ireland is as good as Milner as an attacking mid. Why do we always overlook what we already have?? Just because we have money doesn't mean we don't have to spend. Richard Dunne is a good example. He was arguably better than Kolo and Lescott last season.

Also, anyone who thinks of playing a midfield three of yaya, johnson and milner are clueless. Yaya is a more effective box to box player (anyone watch the ivory coast games?) and he only played DM for barca because xavi and injesta weren't going to sit back, so to play him with two 'wingers' in a midfield three is stupid as you'd just get overrun, especially on the smaller pitches like Bolton, Stoke etc..

This... is more than attacking enough.

--------NDJ---Yaya--------
AJ--------Tev-------Silva
---------Ade/Balo----------

Anyone who says its a long season blah blah.. think Vieira, Barry, Ireland, Kompany, Zab, MJ, Ibrahim.
Milner would only be useful if he came as a winger and if that was the case he'd be behind AJ, Silva, Bellamy and probably even SWP in the pecking order.

All this is just my opinion...

Cant see us going for Donovan as well as Milner so hopefully Donavon is not on the radar anymore.

I think it's interesting that the day after Mancini says he's looking at Donovan, O'Neil comes out and says Milner wants to leave and he is available at the right price - maybe it was a way of flushing Villa out??

I reckon Milner told them some time ago that he wants the move and Villa were hoping he'd come back from his holiday with a changed mind - maybe i'm way off the mark i don't know but either way i think he'd be a good solid signing for us

I too was seven during that wc. I totally agree, the finest team i have ver had the pleasure of watching. I think ever kid playing football on the park was either Zico or Socrates during that summer.

Still the one player that we have been linked with this Summer that I would be upset against us signing.

Never been impressed by him, and England performances summed him up to me.

Ofcourse if we do sign him then he will have my full support, as always, but surely he will be on the bench? He is not in the same league as Silva or Johnson so would have to start in centre midfield on the most part. Maybe home games him and Yaya could work well, with De Jong playing the more tricky ties?

Does anyone else think it's obscene that we might end up paying 30 for Milner when we could get Ozil for 10m less?! That kid will be the best midfielder in the world by the time he's 24 and Milner is just a decent workhorse
