Milner had his chance last season, took it very well was just getting to the top of his game as we ran through teams like a juggernaut and then suddenly and inexplicably he was dropped and never really started again!!

agreed mate! should have been given a longer run in the team and wouldnt surprise me if he wants out soon.

Milner's playing for the Premiership Champions now so any move within the same league is a step down for a player who has always stepped up. There's more than enough matches for him to start in next season.

Jimmy will get his chance more central this season to help GB have a rest at times. Hope GB ready for the new season he was in my top 3 for last season

James showed what he could do last season. He's had his big chance and he's taken it and proven he is good enough to be Barry's long term replacement. This season will just cement that even more. The lad is a superb defensive midfielder. Stand-out games were at Old Trafford and at home to Spurs - both games he was impeccable. He's got more pace than Barry and actually links up better with strikers than Barry and he showed in the two games highlighted above that he can man-mark very good players to a very high standard keeping them out of the game full stop (Nani and Modric).

And that goal against Vill aat home - WHAT A GOAL! From his original break up of the play, to his pass out wide to the movement to find space to receive the pass and the first time strike curling into the top corner.

Great goal against Everton too.

He nearly did it against France too, which I think was the ONLY time any England player managed to get behind an opposition defence this summer.

Milner and Yaya two man midfield would be the perfect balace for most Prem games, Blackburn away last season they worked fantastically well together. I know it was only Blackburn but still strange that we never saw it again. The few times Barry was out Mancini put de Jong beside Toure which didn't really work so hopefully he gives Milner a proper chance there.

doubt it if were after another centre mid player, and even when he was playing well he was still dropped

Barry's irreplaceable. I hope it's not long term because we won't come close to winning the league without him.

Unless we were to buy

Khadera
De Rossi
Martinez

if we dont he is irreplacable

Dont get me wrong i think Barry had been a satand out player for us BUT in the CL knock out stages would he be a stand out player probably not hence the Martinez link whom can play Midfield or centre half
