Missed out on a ticket for the derby?

Memo to Tony, Howard and Phil, you are the devil and a scourge on Manchester City.
Just because you have helped a very under developed country, just because you have helped spread the word of MCFC, just because you have created some good publicity for Manchester City supporters, you are all members of a "Supporters Club" and therefore you should be stoned to death.
(I could go on to say about the amount of money that City supporters clubs have raised for charities based in Manchester and the rest of the world, but who cares, lets scrap them, just in case Jim gives his ticket to the Swamp to Joe).

Apologies. I forgot about being a season ticket holder and doing charity work. Show me on the points criteria where it said 4500 point plus proof of charity work required??

I am pretty certain that the three people that I mentioned are ST holders for may a year and would have the required points to get to any game that we have an allocation of over 800, but Tony made a trip through his work that led to Howard getting involved (through reddish branch), which was then mentioned to the CSA (where Alex and Phil became involved), this is one of many aspects of how the supporters clubs help the profile of our club.
The supporters assocation and the supporters clubs arenot JUST about transporting supporters to games.
How do you put a price on the effect that things like the Sierra Leonne project can have on our club?
I would say that those involved from the start deserve a ticket for an away game at Blackpool or the swamp before the vast majority on here, and certainly before the corporates that are taking a lot of the tickets away from both the supporters clubs and the other matchday going fans.

I've always thought that just because a fan hasn't had much money over the years that doesn't necessarily make them any less of a City fan than those with the money to hand to go to as many games as they wanted to gain more points than the poorer man. Points reward the richer more than they do the loyal. And it is a fact that some fans have the spare cash to throw about that they actually buy tickets (and thus earn the points) for early round cup games, yet actually don't bother fuckin going to the games because they can't be arsed!

I don't see kids who've never earnt any money to buy tickets yet had them bought for them by parents, and have shit loads of Loyalty Points, anymore loyal than someone who has actually bought their own tickets with their own earned money yet has relatively few points. That kid is not a loyal fan, he's just a lucky lad who's got parents with the cash to buy him things. I work at a school in Wythenshawe and know kids whose parents can't afford to buy them anymore than two or three tickets a season (and thus have fuck all points to speak of) yet love this football club just as much as a kid from the richer family.

I'm 28 and have been going to City since 1989 and been to LOADS of games in that time. Yet I was a student when Loyalty Points first came in and as much as I got myself jobs to afford to go to games I couldn't afford a season ticket or that many away games. If I was a few years older and had been to college+uni in the mid 90's (before the points system came in) I'd have a huge amount of points by now. I still do have a good amount of points but just after I left uni I didn't so I joined a Supporters Club.

I felt I was just as, and in my head more, entitled to tickets to places like Old Trafford than people who fuck off early round cup games but still get points (and many more points than me) or kids who get tickets bought for them. And I used the Supporters Club to get away tickets in that time for a few years after I left uni. Some might disagree with that but I don't care, nobody will change my view on that.

However, I found out a few years ago that you could look at your purchase history of tickets on MCFC.co.uk. So I went on to see, just out if interest. I got confused as I noticed that loads of away games I'd been to hadn't been put on the list. I then saw that if they had i would have had more Loyalty Points than I did. I went through old programmes and found ticket stubs and confirmed that all the games that I hadn't been awarded points for were games I'd been to with the Supporters Club branch. I wasn't happy. I emailed City about it and they told me to speak to the branch, as they also would. I went to the next meeting and brought it up. They weren't happy with me and said I'd got them in trouble. I explained that them points were MY points, nobody elses. But they said I was being selfish and that the branch was more important than any one member.

I turned my back on that branch and decided to just get my own tickets from City. I've accumulated a good amount of points but am still actually 280 Loyty Points short of what I should have.

I don't feel that Loyalty Points necessarily represent loyalty. Don't get me wrong there are some great City fans who have definately sacrificed many things over the years to get their points, but at the same time money (who has it/ who doesn't have it) doesn't represent loyalty.

I have beef with the Supporters Clubs but also feel many fans who use it are good fans, they aren't all cheeky fuckers who take the piss. Because don't forget about the twats who fuck off early round cup games yet still get the tickets+points just because they can afford it!

But then think of this. We give United 6.2% of our capacity for Prem games at the CoMS; United give us just 3.8% of their capacity for Prem derbies at the Swamp. If they gave us 6.2% like we give them we'd get 4712 tickets to Swamp derbies every season. Look at Old Firm derbies- they get shit loads of away tickets. They get a cup allocation in league games. Why can't derbies be like this in England? We got over 9000 tickets for last years League Cuo semi, why can't we get this everytime? This would definately solve the argument about Supporters Clubs because tickets for that semi went on open sale last season didn't they? So overall I don't blame City, the Loyalty Points system or Supporters Clubs; I blame the shit allocation we get from the Rags!

that's such a disingenuous argument to make

a few years back i started a fund raising event that suddenly just snowballed and we raised £1.5 million pounds for orphans
i didn't use the SC to help me though otherwise i would deserve a ticket for life off your criteria
pathetic

exactly. I made numerous calls and emails to help with the Neil Young appeal etc, so in that case where's my derby ticket? There isn't one, because charity work, even through club channels should be done because you want to off your own back and not for a reward, so should have no implication on who gets tickets whatsoever.

Why do posters on here only have digs at OSC's on away derby week ?? seems the rest of the season this issue doesnt come into the equasion.

This is exactly it, I'm a proud member of a supporters club, they do a hell of a lot for the club with the branch managers not getting a penny out of it. I got a ticket through my own points as you have to have enough points to qualify to get a ticket anyway. where was this thread last week when we didnt sell out for Birmingham?

Also not sold out 800 tickets for Aris?

Just because its united everybody wants to go, try going to the lesser games and maybe youll stand a chance!

Hardly a fair accusation taking in to account the travelling costs - why not point the finger at low take ups for other league games instead.

whilst its a complete disgrace that osc members can get tickets for such important games without having the requisite number of points, im sure if someone off here was offered one of those said tickets right now, they would take it on a no questions asked basis.

nope, I wouldn't. Can't stand derby games and couldn't bring myself to stand in the away end for fear of getting beat and the humiliation walking away from the ground.

I also hate their ground and the last thing I'm going to do is pay to go in it.

Yes they would but that is because the damage has been done and it is now a free for all. Despite my moaning i would take one. The debate when the tickets came on sale and not now. Thinking of doing the London marathon as according to some charity works helps. OSC - Fleecing true fans out of tickets
