Missing Blues?

I made it, four of us in the car from Southampton, passed a few of the Weymouth lot near Manchester.

I couldn't make the Ajax game, sorry about that, but came to Dortmund too.

We do 95% of home games, unfortunately due to distance/time off/expense we can't do every game.

I have had to sacrifice away games (most of which are closer to home) to make the home matches, as I would rather give our club the money. Most of us these days have had to tighten our belts a bit, and unfortunately non-necessities are the first to go.

The number of fucking camera flashes every time Ronaldo was on the ball was sickening.

I think a fair number of distant STs just can't get to night matches after a day's work.

All our fans live in Manchester, haven't you heard?
I'm long distance, and all of the lads I know were present last night bar one, same for Ajax, and Dortmund too, the "one" can't get the time off work as he needs half a day off.

I deliver to Southampton mate, think it is St Denys, also i think i go through or see signs for Bitterne and there maybe a rail station there, i go to a place on spitfire way/dock and you can see the ground from over the river where i deliver to, you anywhere near that?

Hi buzzer, I'm the other side of town from there, west side, town called Totton, prob about 10 mins west on the M27 from there mate.

I'm glad someone has picked up on this because when I got to the ground last night the number of 'tourists' was the first things that struck me and when I saw one of them just outside 110 taking a photograph of the girl serving the hot dogs it struck me that the club that I love beyond reason, and for many years, beyond common sense is now on the slippery slope to moving away from me. I can see the day coming when I get a letter from the club saying 'It's not you, It's me. I think we should have some time apart' while all the time I know that they've found a new lover.

The times that I came away from the ground depressed and angry under Pearce were for football reasons, but last night was something new, a different feeling and not one that I felt was healthy. I am worried about how this will end but my immediate thoughts are that next seasons seasoncard renewal is now under a sever period of debate and internal angst as to whether to bother or not. Or should I just let the club move inevitably to it's new partner who can give it so much more financially than I can.

Having said all that - still can't wait for Norwich away over Christmas. And those feelings of excitement and anticipation I think I will cherish even more now having seen what's coming on the horizon.

Oh, and on a final note to the fellow poster on here who accused me of being 'Bernard Manning-esque' when I expressed these opinions to them at the game last night - see, I'm not the only one!

ps: The flaky pie was shite. Sort it out City!

Although I think he was takin the piss, Im also long distance and made the game last night. Also hit a flood in the road and spun my car into a ditch.Didnt get home till 4.30am, minus my car. Had to get it earlier today. Also made the Ajax game. Im at a point where Im just a bit para when I open my mouth at City games as I just know what 'locals' are thinkin. My family are from Rochdale so Iv been City born and bred but I guess many dont think like this when they hear my accent. There was a time when locals would be in shock and shake my hand that I have traveled so far to watch a poor side.
