I believe she works in finance? Mortgages? Sometimes people disappear when there are financial ‘irregularities’ ??

Well the police wouldn’t say I believe she’s in the water and waste all them resources if she had committed fraud/ theft they would say she was on the run and we are looking for her Sherlock

Because she would rather the children thought she was dead than that she left them. I know that sounds heartless, but at this stage it must be a realistic possibility.

Narcissists (and I’m not suggesting she is one) have been known to do far worse, to ‘protect’ their loved ones from the anguish of losing them. Hopefully it’s resolved soon either way for the kids’ sake.

I've not really been keeping up on this thread but I've read that police have called off the search in the river that they think she would have been found in. She may have well been swept further downstream and be snagged up by branches of a sunken tree or other underwater debris. I don't know the Wyre and as an angler I've never fished it but I hope they can dive further down river where it's likely to be deeper and wider.
