This is a very weird case? I suspect even the greatest crime writers would struggle to solve it.

I think the world’s greatest crime writers might usually have an inkling whodunnit because they wrote the books. Doesn’t make them detectives.

Mind you Bluemoon’s greatest detectives are also struggling to solve it.

Seems bizarre that you would walk any distance away from your phone and dog lead.. just speculating but think most folk would take the phone with them if they were to walk up river to look for the dog or whatever. A lot of speculation about the phone being a decoy. Would be interesting to know what evidence the police do have..

We all have different habits but this is a very good point.

Having an expensive phone aside, you wouldn't leave it on the bench even if looking for the dog as you may need it to ring the police/family etc.
