Missing woman Nicola Bulley - inquest (P 158)

You can’t keep a springer out of water, particularly if its owner fell in. This mutt was dry as a bone.

We have had Springers for over 30 years. Most all have been water mad, (especially those from working background parents) to the point I could never let them off lead near such water, unless I wanted them to go in.
But some, including two we have now have zero interest in it.

However, nothing on earth would make them stay put off lead if I was to walk away and leave them. If she did that, or was taken that dog would never have stayed there as it did.

Really baffling.

She’s probably not been in the river. Husband/partner is my number one suspect.
Anyone that has a dog would probably say the same thing,
Go in the water, and it will follow.
Attack/abduct and it will attack/follow/bark
The only thing it wouldn’t do, is remain in the same spot for any period of time…
