MLB 2025

As a Mets fan you become used to gigantic kicks in the Niagra's so sundays loss to complete the collapse was no surprise - weve been awful for 3 months.

Pay Pete, bring back Diaz and build around the core of Lindor, Soto & Nimmo.

We need to sort Starting Pitching and defense; can commence by clearing the Infield logjam of Baty, Vientos, Maurico & Acuna - too many in one area there but like McNeil on an expiring contract they are all tradeable assets.

I'm glad it's not my job to sort out the infield situation. I think Baty has earned 3B for the moment, but Vientos, McNeil, Ronny and Acuna aren't a perfect fit anywhere. If Pete stays I think Vientos is DH, and they'll try to get Ronny more reps at 2B in the hope he'll reduce McNeil to a utility role, with Acuna there purely for late inning defense and PH/running. Regardless I think at least one of them will be gone by the deadline for a small return.

Not looking forward to getting swept in the Wild Card by devil magic, terrorist ball

Well at least it won’t be a sweep but I imagine that’s as good as it will get.

Absolutely no faith in the offence sadly, especially when Skubal's not on the mound to shut folk down.

Mize has been great but he'll get fuck all support. Meadows is stealing a living.

Still, we should enjoy it tonight for what it is! Especially when their voodoo, don't hit the ball out of the infield but score a run and get the tying run to third bullshit baseball came up short for once.

Guardians were their own worst enemy today, but fair play to Skubal, who pitched a gem.
The social media seat counters were out in full force today, but what do you expect when MLB forces a 1pm start with 36hrs notice? I’m fortunate enough to be flexible with work and also live two blocks from the stadium, but most aren’t.

In the history of Mets collapses this was a pretty boring job, but some positives like McLean and Baty coming into their own, Alvarez having a big second half, etc. Need to resign Diaz and Pete, or find a replacement as we need his offense for the foreseeable future.

It's times like these I take comfort in the fact I don't live in a dump like Philly or follow the Phillies, who have lost more games than any team in the history of professional sports.
The Phillies are 100 years older than the Mutts. You will probably catch up in about 10 years or so. Autumn golf is wonderful, keep it in the fairway. 8>) Go Phillies!!!

I did find that really odd to have such a huge play off game at 1pm on a Tuesday afternoon with pretty much only a day to sell tickets. Surely the Guardians with a packed hostile atmosphere is a bit different than a sedate lunchtime start with thousands of unsold seats.

What i didn't realise was all 3 games are in Cleveland, presumed 1 would be in Detroit.

MLB claims TV viewership increases with the current bizarre schedule. I find that hard to believe when not even kids are at home at 1pm to watch and most people can't knock off work to watch baseball, but they don't seem responsive to the complaints.

Similar situation to the odd kickoff times in England these days. I don't think it's good for the game ultimately.

DeLauter's hitting two absolute bombs today minimum

Think I read he dropped a catch. A lot of hype about him and the Aussie (Bazana?). The latter is still in the minor leagues
Yeah, first play of the game he dropped a towering long fly out in centre. TBF the wind was whipping around something rotten, but he still should’ve made it.
In the 5th(?) he made a great catch to make up for it, plus he looked good at the plate and drew a couple of walks.

I’d expected to see Bazzana called up second half of next year. Looking forward to seeing what an Aussie cricket player can bring. Tried to see him last year when he was playing for single-A Lake County Captains, who are in Eastlake a Cleveland suburb, and both times he was left out of the lineup!

Three winner-takes-all games and based on the first two games it’d be difficult to call any of them. The Dodgers are through but their bullpen looks untrustworthy.

Untrustworthy is a very polite way of putting it.
