MM's Guide to Sunderland & Newcastle (Updated 05.11.2013)

Re: Mancmackem's Guide to Sunderland & Newcastle

Will do mate! Game has all the signs that we will lose though with them not winning for 4 months or so. Would be Typical City. Have you bought them sweets for Jess yet? She will be getting moody if you haven't!

some of us blues in Newcastle are definitely meeting up in the union rooms right near central station (check macmackem's guide for directions) from one few a few pints before heading to sunderland

if you're coming to Newcastle first head on down and join us!

I see they open at 10am, I feel an early start to Sunday coming on.

Hi all,

Just some last minute info. I looked into the possibility of minibuses parking in the Bridges Multi Storey car park that i mentioned, and i've made a bit of a fook up. The entrances are height restricted, will be a push from what you can see below. Do not park in the Rooftop Car Park as a solution, it shuts at 6pm : -

If you cannot get it in, i suggest you use the park and walk service off Chester Rd (see map on the first post, it is about 200 yards from The Bridges so no major disaster. Alternatively, a sneaky place to park is outlined on the map below: -

This is where the uni flats are, just check for double yellows and that if parking on the road. It is where the red line is on this map (postcode is SR1 1XS), and i seem to remember there being a small area (6/8 spaces) for parking outside panns bank also. Can then follow the blue line to get to the ground, or head left at the start of the blue line to get into the city centre for a few beers!

Mancmackem,

Cheers for the info on the pubs etc.

Sorry we missed you in Fitzgeralds. We must have been near you but got talking to some Sunderland fans and only saw your texts as we left. Had a good time in there and plenty of friendly banter with their fans.

Cheers again mate

Most of the North East Blues will be in Union Rooms from 12.00, front bar on left then heading on to Colliery Tavern later.
