Thanks for that. I couldn't hear what they were saying, I can only watch MNF with the sound down when Carragher is on.

Hahaha - he sounds like the lad screech out of saved by the bell

The most noticeable thing I've seen since November is that we play 442 when attacking and a 4231 when defending. A new poster mentioned how deep Dzeko was dropping in one of our xmas matches and that trend has continued up tothe present.

I haven't noticed this.

I see us pressing high up the pitch when we lose the ball, if we fail to get the ball, we contain with two banks of four and two men upfront.

Even at the Allianz Arena, without the ball we had Dzeko and Silva upfront together.

^^^^^^^ See that ?

Do see how there's little space in between the lines ? That's how you should play against the top teams. You will get raped you if you give away too much space.

4-4-2 will work against barca , but we need 2 very mobile forwards chasing every ball , and dont give barca time to dwell on the ball , so the front pairing shouid be negredo and aguero . Dzeko has improved 100% recently but hes not as mobile as sergio and alvaro , the barca game will truly give us an idea of how far our club has progressed under MP.

Milner would be crucial against Barca, especially if Yaya gets lazy. I just hope the motivation of the occasion, especially against his former club is enough for him to have one of his unplayable games.

Definitely 442 at home. The people flapping about the bayern game are forgetting that silva and negredo weren't playing and dzeko kept giving it away.

Having no Nasri means that the role on the right is between navas and Milner and I'd go Milner to give us a bit more protection.
Milner is suspended

Ah. Team picks itself, more or less. Slight question mark over left back. I'd go clichy but kolorov will probably get the nod.

People seem to think we'll embarrass Barcelona by hammering them 5 or 6 nil. I agree.

Yep if Yaya is truly up for this I think well win and look incredibly good whilst doing it.

Agree, although I don't think we can use it at Nou Camp. We looked miles better when Negredo came on for Dzeko against Bayern at home. His work rate and ability to press is immense.

Throw in Silva or Jovetic (not holding my breath though) and that gives us a much greater ability to hold possession when under pressure. IMO the keys to beating them are going to be how Kolarov and Navas play. We can't beat them at the possession game but we can get them on our lethal counter with crosses.

But yeah, it will be the ultimate litmus test thus far.
