Rightly so mate. Some things are bought purely for enjoyment purposes. It’s not always about making money.I fully expect to lose every penny we put in but we aren't doing it as an investment.
We are doing it so that we can escape the City for a few months of the year and get some peace and quiet.
Going to put a 24x10' deck across the front this year so that will keep me busy if I take my time.

His post says "Residential site" & "I'm NOT SURE if he has to leave for 7 weeks".......I would therefore still suspect it isn't a holiday park ;)The fact that in the op he says he has to leave the site would suggest it's a holiday park and not a residential site with council tax etc
With the fees and the depreciation of the Statics every year its simply a none starter as an investment. Haven/Bourne Leisure is now owned by Blackstones private equity firm. All they are interested in is squeezing money out of Owners.I did briefly consider buying a caravan on a Haven site as an investment just to rent out and make some money on until I remembered reading on here a few years back a similar thread to this with loads saying they are a money pit.
A bloke at work, his parents live on a residential site but leave it for 8 weeks, stay with him for a fortnight, go the canaries for 4 weeks then stay at his sisters for 2. I'm sure he said doing this makes them exempt from paying council taxThe fact that in the op he says he has to leave the site would suggest it's a holiday park and not a residential site with council tax etc.

I dont know, just what I've been told, if you don't live there for x many weeks you don't have to pay it. I'll have a nosy on googleWhen I lived on a holiday park, I didnt have to pay council tax but had to leave the park for two week.
I thought residential sites you could stay all year that's why you pay council tax !
I've googled it, you do have to pay if its your main residence. I think maybe that is how it used to be but no longerWhen I lived on a holiday park, I didnt have to pay council tax but had to leave the park for two week.
