Modric: "Spurs are Superior to City"

Perhaps that is his way of saying he wants to join City and make us just as superior :P

-- Thu Mar 24, 2011 11:40 pm --

Silva is better than Modric.

Modric goes hiding in games alot, Silva never has done, never looks like doing either.

If i'm honest we all know Spurs are better to watch than us, i'd have their way of football over ours without a doubt.

were above them in the league, but if you look at strength and weakness, were a class above, we just aren't showing it.
They are both fantastic players. Lets not split the difference.

Would love to sign modric as back up for Silva.

Would also be good to see them in the same team.

too good to be back up, both are quality players and deserved to be in the same team. what a fantastic midfield just in front of nige

But the table doesn't lie, you ugly inbred twat!!!!!

Luka Modric believes Tottenham are a better team than Manchester City but admits it will be difficult to secure a top-four finish.

The sides were neck-and-neck in the race for UEFA Champions League qualification last season before Spurs picked up a decisive 1-0 victory at Eastlands in their penultimate match.

A similarly crucial fixture is on the cards this term, with City set to entertain Harry Redknapp's men on 10th May.

Tottenham are currently one place and four points behind their Manchester rivals in fifth, but do have the chance to make up ground with a game in hand.

Modric accepts that it will not be easy for Spurs to repeat their heroics from 12 months ago, even though he feels they are the superior team.

"It is going to be tougher than last year but I think we have a lot of quality in the team and can do it again," the Croatian, currently on international duty, told Sky Sports News.

"It is going to be hard but I think we are better than them and we still have one game against them.

"I think that game will again be decisive for who finishes fourth and fifth."
Very childish response just because he is bulling up his own teams chances. That's the trouble with this forum....certain posters resort to imature insults and comments when someone has a different view to themselves. What is Modric suppose to say....City are the better team we have got no chance ?
Grow up don't resort to insults just because you disagree with what someone is saying !

That would be a very effective team. Maybe repacing Lennon with AJ.

What Crouch ahead of Tevez? Dawnson ahead of lescott? Modric ahead of Y. Toure?
My formation there has two wingers, so why would I play someone as small as Tevez in the middle?

Dawson is better than Lescott; Modric is better than Yaya Touré. I really think you're pushing it with the latter.

The only table that matters is after the final game. We haven't been out of the top four since September but come May that is the only time the table shows you who is the better team. So don't get ahead of yourself.

Plus he is not a poor man's Silva, imo he's Spurs second best player (behind Dawson) and easily on a par with Silva.

Plus i actually agree with him. I think Spurs are superior to City, not by a great deal, but they are just a little bit better than us.

An XI from the two teams for me would be:
-----------------------Hart-----------------------
Richards--------Kompany-------Dawson--------Bale
----------------------de Jong---------------------
-------Modric------van der Vaart------Silva--------
----------------Tevez--------Defoe---------------

Yes a fairly even mix. But as a team i think they are more of one than us. Being a better team isn't necessarily about saying which individuals are better than others.

Spuds don't have a better team/squad than ours. They just play their players where they are supposed to be playing to maximise their ability.I also believe redknapp is the english equivalent of Bobby. He knows the English game inside out and only loses or fails to win matches due to not having top quality in every department. He'd be lost and out of his depth in a foreign country.
