Because wanted to keep him for the rest of the season, player only wanted them and his dad had been courting liverpool for the past year. In all honesty i dont think they thought he would have such a good world cup. It was a safegaurd to Guarantee a transfer fee.

Brighton just sitting there with the biggest shit eating grin ever, I bet they were just adding whatever random shit in the deal at the end, and Chelsea were so desperate they were just saying yes.

In just over 1 year chelsea have given Brighton nearly a quartet Billion pound.

Caicedo with out a doubt. MacAllister we have replacements already, but Caicedo was great at winning the ball back in mid, and also was the pivot to playing out from the back. I trust the club in whoever they bring in.

Interestingly there us a player in England with Similar stats as Caicedo, Brighton have just loaned him out again to Northampton i think it is. Marc Leonard a name to keep an eye on as well as Moran.

The rags had first dibs on Caicedo for £7.5m transfer fee and didn't follow it through.

It was £5m but they pulled out due to the 3 Organizations that had ownership of him. We had already dealt with South American sides who all seem to do the same, this made it easier for us to step in and buy for £4.5m.

This is where the agents earn their corn,surely? If Chelsea feel Caicedo is worthy of a British transfer record fee, then his agent should be negotiating a salary to suit a player attached to such a fee? I'd imagine he's on fairly strong ground when it comes to these negotiations, given he's got two clubs fighting for his services.

Doubt it, his agent is only in it fir himself.
