There’s no way any club bids over £80m without having the player’s camp onside. This bid sounds like utter nonsense to me.

Brighton are not a nightmare to deal with. White, Bissouma, MacAllister, Trossard, Burn and many others - all out the door and all parties happy. Chelsea overpaying for Cucurella and taking Potter just 5 games into a new season might suggest that the issues are not at Brighton’s door when it comes to Caicedo. To repeat Brighton’s oft-stated position - the club will not stand in a player’s way but the valuation has to be met and the transaction must be right for the club.I've been impressed with him and I think he would add a lot to this team. However dealing with Brighton is a mare -so!!
Would much prefer Caicedo to go to the triple-winners, with a generationally successful coach because that’s a great footballing decision. If not you, Caicedo should absolutely stay with DeZerbi because he will have European football with another generationally talented coach (Pep’s view as well).

It's not just about fees though - if the fee is spread over the contract length, then Milner plus Henderson's wages would probably cover a big fee and wages for one player. They may be in the situation we were when Pep splurged on defenders - we sold/released a lot of older players and bought fewer younger ones. The fees we sold for were small, but getting all those wages off the books freed up the money we needed for our biggest summer spend.
That 90 mil was after Kovacic signed and Gvardiol was already accounted for. So we know at least 90 mil is available if needed...Caicedo > Rice. All day long. Pray to god it’s true and it’s City.
