Monaco post match

Haha my personal favourite that sums up the average rag mentality desperate to find something wrong with the result when the ref blatantly tried to screw us at key moments in that game:

Im pretty sure that should still be offside.

Mane is technically in an offside position because there's only the keeper between him and the goal. It doesn't matter if he's behind Aguero, because Aguero plays the ball forward, not backwards.

He even got his name wrong for feck sake! :)

Monaco were excellent on the counter and I held my breath every time they won the ball during one of our attacks. Go at to give them a lot of credit for their part in a great game.

First half Sergio looked like he has for last 3 months, he was trying but nothing was working. Second half was Sergio at his best, not only with his goals but also the assists and when he lost they ball he tracked back (one time to win the ball back outside our box).

Sterling showed great a player he will be for us, put him around good players and he shines. Sane makes the difference because we now have quality outlets on both wings and with them both switching and combining with Silva defenders don't known who to mark.

Can't imagine what the score will be in second leg but think we will need to score 1 or maybe 2 to go through.

Quote from Warren Barton on US tv "that referee shouldn't ref another game period". Not just a champions league game. He was just awful.

He looked almost as glassy eyed as I did

Did 1894 do a display tonight? Couldn't see anything on tv but was sure I'd seen them recently say one was planned.

Whatever anyone says, the Champions League would be a hell of a lot less exciting without us in it.

Sterling, Sane, Kev and Silva all as excellent as ever, and if Sergio can sort out his first touch we'll be pretty much unstoppable. Nothing much good to say about the defending, watching Otamendi tonight made me desperate for Kolarov back in the side. But Stones did well to make up for his mistake and Willy was incredible second half - penalty saved was definitely the turning point. Only thing missing from his performance was a yellow card
