Monaco post match

Sterling and Sane are the two most important footballers at our club. The owner said, when he bought us, he was going to bring a style that would thrill. These two are going to be generation defining and will drive forward City's "brand" of football.

We'll look back on them as our greatest wingers. The electricity they produce going forward is like having two Sweep's on speed.

Yes the goalkeeper, centre halves, centre midfielders and striker are more important positions normally, but... These two are our attack.

The pace, skill and confidence they bring on the flanks must give opposing managers nightmares. Add to that the genius of Silva, De Bruyne and Yaya and you've got the best attacking lineup this club has ever had.

When I look at a team sheet and see those two, along with Silva and De Bruyne... I get a hard on.

Pep deserves credit for getting the best out of Silva and De Bruyne playing together too.
 
Defensively shocking but amazing going forward. Best game I've seen in a long time. The referee was a disgrace again.

Willy redeemed himself hugely. None of our defenders are up to it. Otamendi is terrible. Stones isn't far behind but he's a long way off his prime and shouldn't be judged this season....look at how much Sterling and Sane have come on after mediocre starts.

Monaco were great to be fair. They will have their best talent taken away. They remind me so much of Dortmund about 5 years ago. Such a good side going forward. Their pace was frightening.

Overall we have to be delighted. It's a great result given we had absolutely everything go against us. The referees aren't even trying to hide it any more though. It's so far beyond a joke. The overall game was a microcosm of our season. Great going forward, chances missed, really bad defensive and keeping errors and really dodgy decisions.
 
I'm so fucking angry and not just because it's taken me 1/2 an hour to get out of the car park. We should be home and dry now had it not been for that **** of a ref

Nervous 1st half. A bit too cautious and not enough confidence. Monaco nearly perfect then.

The ref made a strong call against Sergio and I like that way - but not if it's only done against City worldwide! Wtf?
I couldn't even clearly see a foul from Ota v Falcao, but then it's a pen?? No consistency within the match AND compared to other refs as well.
I think the ref was very good though, but refs are so incredible different. Huge impact to the game.

I knew City would turn up 2nd half. Really impressive how confident City was going on to hunt Monaco down. Could have been more than 5.

Stones was a bit shaky as well - but after Falcao's 2-3 happened he was worldclass and fought back to equalize his mistake. Strong mentality!!

Now CB Glik is suspended for the 2nd leg, very good. They have to come at us and they know what will happen...
