Money Running out?

Relax!

Sheikh Masour's new house in Abu Dhabi. I suspect he has to share it with the rest of the family though.

I know it's a bit of an overreaction but it seems awfully strange that we have been so desperate to offload certain players without any plan to replace them. We have made some decent signings over the past few seasons but no real big names. Was saying before that sergio was our last real big name signing and that was over 3 years ago now. It would seem to me that FFP is taking its toll.

At 32m for a CD I actually consider Mangala to be a big signing.
Name the worlds top defenders and thier potential prices and not so many roll off the tongue.

I don't get the obsession with big name or money signings, do you see Bayern Munich, Dortmund or Atletico Madrid going out spending big money on players every summer? In fact I don't think any of those clubs have spent more that £35m-£40m on a player yet they have been very successful in the past few seasons.

I get the feeling Txiki's transfer policy is to sign players who are up and coming stars or players who are just under that superstar bracket but are hungry for success and fit a team building ethic that wants very few egos.

I don't see us ever spending huge money on a player under Txiki as DOF unless it's the next Neymar, a player we know will make his fee back in merchandise and offer us success on the pitch at the same time.

2 of those clubs are quite poor. Athletico is in massive debt, even dortmund had to loan money from bayern to survive.

Bayern have spent big, Javi martinez and gotze being two example. They generally get first say on all german talent, and prices in germany are reasonable so we dont see those big figures. Also add in the fact that German talent isnt shit; so they can have a world class team much cheaper. look at how the got lewandowski and rode, on free transfers. we on the other hand have to compete with rags and arsenal and scousers for local talent which is shit and overpriced.

Bayern and the Bundesliga are very well structured.

City aren't gonna run out of money, the TV rights deal for the Cash League and Premier League have risen and risen, like our league standings. We can compete, but we don't need to panic buy or flood the ranks like we did to catch up, form a transition in competitive ability.

Don't think thats Sheikh Mansour's. Like you said it's the Presidential Palace which is for the President Sheikh Khalifa.

But still, the idea of money running out is absurd.

Both of whom cost similar to Mangala and Fernandinho, who we've purchased in the last two summer transfer windows.

Agreed, it's seems that big signings only apply to attacking players.
