The Keighley MP Anne Cryer was one of the first to call out the gangs who perpetrated these appalling crimes. Her own agent publicly denounced her as a racist.
It took several years before anyone took any notice. It was Channel 4 who finally ran her story. BBC refused to touch it.

Think this story (and this thread) says a lot about how we deal with racism in this country, to be honest.

Slightly separate issue but the way the Bernardo 'Conguitos' episode went down said a lot about it too.

Telford now and it’s becoming more and more clear why these things are been covered up.

Pretty much sums up my feelings on this.

My guess is that no one has bitten on the racial side of the outrage, but I could be wrong.

In this case (and others) it has been predominantly Asian gangs who see young white girls as 'trash' and therefore 'fair game'. I'm guessing, but I think they use the racism element as a shield to protect themselves from scrutiny and the authorities play right into their hands by not effectively challenging them for fear of reprisals. Maybe their is also a cultural element to it, but if these gangs were singling out white girls for abuse then THEY are the ones being racist.

Regardless of their race or ethnic background it boils down to one simple fact: they are criminals who are exploiting and abusing vulnerable members of society. No different to anyone else doing the same thing.

Yeah, I understood that. I meant some want more outrage in this thread to fuel their own ongoing outrage.

This whole business is abhorrent and should never be allowed to happen again, whoever the perpetrators and victims are.
