Nope. A friend of the wifes did the same thing, moved on from degree to degree so she could stay at Uni 'cos she "loved the student lifestyle" They and she all have rich parents so they choose to stay.

So the taxpayer did not foot the bill.

Yes the taxpayer funded their education, their rich parents allowed them the money to go out on the piss all the time.

Pretty much the only thing that this country is good at outside of finance and tourism is highly technical research and production, so we've decided to slash University funding and make it more difficult to go to University. Genius.
The "Get a job" mob will be after you.

I'm thinking about the ones who want to go and do a worthwhile degree but feel put off by the cost. Not the people who study mickey mouse degrees for the hell of it.

That's fair enough mate but there has to be some sort of mechanism to filter out the dross and unfortunately money talks! What you have to remember is its the tax payer who funds some/all of the deficit at the moment the people who are working and not at uni, I'm sure everyone would agree if its unfair for a student to have to pay their own fees then it's even more unfair to ask someone who hasn't been to uni to pay it.

A fair argument

-- Wed Nov 24, 2010 5:28 pm --

You have to pay for your second degree. I don't see the problem with them staying at university.
