More trams

On a none match weekday at rush hour, i was told by staff on the platform at the gardens that the ones to the stadium are double, but any that go to Ashton have to be single trams as the platforms on that route were not made long enough to have doubles on, and the road layout etc..

Whether true or bullshit i don't know.
Just bullshit. I had long correspondence with metro after our crush incident. They have a maximum for no of passengers on a tram but have no way of enforcing it, getting doubles is logistically difficult, no means of controlling numbers on the platform, bla, bla, bla. Promises that the service would improve (it didnt). So sadly, we now drive. Public transport not fit for purpose post match.

Got on the tram at Piccadilly for the Burnley game, two trams came in and unloaded all the passengers and then carried on, they must have gone past the ground empty. The next one was rammed and could not get on, from that one experience the service is crap. More carriages has to be the answer.

If they left Piccadilly station empty heading in the direction of Ashton they would be going to the turn back track alongside Baird Street.

The signage on the tram should have said "Not in Service" and after reaching Baird Street they would head back to Piccadilly station on the opposite platform, why they couldn't take fans to the Etihad Campus and then turn back is anybody's guess.

Why the long queue after yesterday's match.
5.30 before I boarded a tram back into town.
Up to £4 as well.
If any service price should not have went up it is the Etihad one.

Briefly touched on this before on a different thread. I have the tram season ticket but went with someone else so couldn't use the fast lane. Left at final whistle and was in the family stand so wasn't too bad at first. Was held back before the kiosk then after the kiosk and then endured the platform melee. It's an effing mess. There's old folk and kids freezing just stood waiting. That arsehole who runs metrolink should be invited to use it after a match in mid winter to see how shit it is. I'm sure there's plenty of reasons/excuses for how poor it is, but equally there must be solutions/improvements. It was dogshit yesterday and I feel for those near the back of the queues I really do.

every tram should be a double, and the trams should run every 5 minutes on every route in every direction from the start of service to the end of service, every day.

This "we'll put on an insufficient number of extra trams back into town, which means if you need to connect you could be waiting between 20-30 minutes for your next tram as we've taken a bunch out of service to ferry people back to Piccadilly really slowly" has to stop.

Londoners must be pissing themselves, they stand in the warmth for 2 minutes, we stand getting hypothermia and Australian flu for 30 minutes because there's nowhere warm to stand and no fucking trams.

Quicker to walk to Piccadilly(if your ok to do so)honestly. I’ve done it regularly no more than 3 trams pass me on route. Then get on at Piccadilly. I am lucky as I sit in the Colin Bell level one so getting out and away is easy(no stairs).

Wish I could walk.Dodgy knees.
Sometimes alright walking but any standing about on a train after is agony.

Stood in the queue immediately afterwards with a 3 and 6 year old. Must have been 40 mins wait. The speakers are turned down so you cannot hear announcements. Adding disgruntled away fans to the queue made it feel slower
