Which bit of Northwich do you live in and where's your seat in the stadium? We drove back to Northwich. Obviously we didn't give a shit about traffic cos we felt ace, but it was bloody busy the first mile or two. Took ages to find a parking spot before too.
Can’t one of you organise a bus back to Northwich for night matches , can think of about 20 who would use it .Which bit of Northwich do you live in and where's your seat in the stadium?
For midweek night games, I'll either ensure a work appointment in the Manchester area for late afternoon, or I'll be in Essex, at my work's officeCan’t one of you organise a bus back to Northwich for night matches , can think of about 20 who would use it .
I thought most of the time they went down the middle of the road?! I know I’ve driven down the tracks a few times, but surely they could use traffic lights to smooth the flow of the trams for the hour before and after the game? Just a thought! Clearly nonsensical.express trams! good luck with that idea since the trams are stuck in traffic, tried the tram to ashton once and it took an hour
There is a third centre line on the slope between ASDA and AT Way, which is used for this very purpose. But you don't see it being used after the game very often now. It used to have a trams waiting there a few seasons ago but dose'nt appear to be used to the same extent anymore. We need a tram depot near the ground where they can be stacked up.
The problem is you can only load one tram at a time & when one departs another arrives so I don' think the issue is the number of trams. This is something that could and should have been sorted out a long time ago.
I have repeatedly mentioned the after match problems to the Club and on the face of it they have done nothing.
I have examined the area around the stadium in regards to the Metrolink operation and think the following is possible.
The cost of adding the extra turn back track would be less than a bang average player.
- There is room for two empty double trams in the turn back section (third track) between the Etihad stop and the Velodrome stop.
- There is room to add a turn back section after the Velodrome stop and before the Ashton Canal which could hold another two empty double units.
Four empty double units would certainly help to shift fans quicker after a match and might encourage people to remain in their seats longer.
There just seems to be no willingness for the Club and Metrolink to get together and look into the problem.
you have obviously never used the tram after the match to get to Ashton. Pathetic service. singles when they finally do arrive. The service is a serious accident waiting to happen. We stopped using it after being involved in a post match crush incident. There always seems to be enough trams. The delay is queuing for the trams & getting everyone onto them.
When 50000 fans are leaving at the same time there's inevitably going to be long delays.
As for leaving early maybe the club could give incentives to fans who stay till the end, such as reward points to towards cheaper tickets. This could probably be done by putting some device onto the seat which triggers when in the up right position.
No they don't. That happens now and then. I've waited ages for the next one to come. The problem is you can only load one tram at a time & when one departs another arrives so I don' think the issue is the number of trams.
Maybe I've been lucky on the numerous occasions I've used the tram. There's always been another tram within a few minutes. No they don't. That happens now and then. I've waited ages for the next one to come.
Sorry to disagree mate but you are completely wrong with that remark. The problem is you can only load one tram at a time & when one departs another arrives so I don' think the issue is the number of trams.
Actually out on Church St in Wincham. Ticket’s in 110 this season. Normally we walk up to Lostock Gralam station, get the train in then walk up the canal from Piccadilly. I enjoy that but it can take up to 2 hours door to seat - which is a bit of a push for mid week games.Which bit of Northwich do you live in and where's your seat in the stadium?
The tram station is not fit for purpose, not big enough and not enough trams, should be more than one entrance too. Need to extend platforms and tram lengths.
Local roads are shocking, too.
