More trams

manchester city should buy a couple of the trams and do there magic on them with the paint work and use them on match days and around town in the week there is a divert link just after the etihad campus that the trams use in the midweek and the swap over is banked up and is only ever used to the etihad campus so don't they use it on match days to double up the trams

even like somebody said a turn around point could be built before the velopark and trams could run ever 2 mins without any trouble

We left couple of mins after final whistle after applauding the team from level 2
Family stand. 2 adults and one young child. Went directly to etihad station. The queue
was longest I had experienced it being.Good job it wasn't raining as we were nowhere
near to the covered section for good x10 mins, then another x15 mins to reach ticket
Kiosks.I have been using tram now for over a year and in that time only experienced
a handful of return journeys in what could be considered a reasonable time and thats
fully considering it's an event situation. We decided a long time ago the reason they don't
have monitors showing arrival/departure upstairs, is either they are too embarrassed at
the time delay to publicise the fact or they have no idea or a combination of both.
Staff spend x5 or x6 mins trying to get a further 2 people on at each set of doors onto an
already overloaded tram when they would be best getting it off asap to allow the next empty
tram to get onto the platform.

Tram was rammed from Piccadilly yesterday at about 13:30, but had a couple of beers so didn't want to walk.
Can handle that. But no way was I getting the tram back. Wanted to get home before Sunday morning.

The getting away down south is not the club's problem we make that choice (I do it every home game sat, Sunday, Night games whenever, often getting home at 2-45 am.
I'd be interested if there's any consultation going on with the council and highways department and publish (if anything what's planned and when), as for the trams, if they could be sorted to encourage fans to park further away from the ground that would ease the congestion getting away. I would welcome leaving our minibus at Altrincham and getting in to the M6, we tried this last season it took almost two hours to get to Altrincham!! Then another three and half hrs drive, never again!!

Piss poor getting back into town last night, was out with 3 Frankfurt lads who come over every yr for a match at new yr, they got a cab back with few other lads while I'm freezing me bollocks off at tram stop, I've been to Hamburg, Schalke,Dortmund etc, their transport system pisses all over ours.... come out of the ground and whoosh yer gone ....absolutely light yrs in front the old germans

I do think the idea of the club investing in increased tram capacity themselves is a great one

Accept how long it will take you go get home and end your suffering.

I would if I knew. Espacially as Network Rail are also playing silly buggers these days.
Buy a train ticket for a 50 minute journey home and find you have a bus that takes 2 and quarter hours.

Thanks to the bellend in the blue jacket that barged my 6 year old face first into the ticket kiosk to get himself slightly further up the queue than he would otherwise have been. I'm sure that tooth was loose anyway and the blood from the nosebleed will come out with a visit to the dry cleaners

City top brass need to get liaising with council on clearing campus big time 45 mins max......traffic lights, trams, police on junctions flowing traffic etc.
World class team , conference north infra structure.

Staying in Bolton after the Newcastle game.
Bus journey only on the Sunday getting to Wigan to catch train north

That type of stuff really grips my shit mate. Grown men acting like maniacs to get just in front of you when there's a thousand people still in front of them. Then the attempt to avoid eye contact as you give them the death stare.

When the Rags played Chelsea last season I took a disabled adult to that match (no choice !) We had to come and go on the tram. We left at full time and walked down passed the cricket ground, as you would expect there were thousands walking with us. I was dreading the queue. I saw a tram at the stop and knew, from getting them at the Eitihad there would not be abother one for ages. Bollocks, as it pulled away there was another waiting, there were no queues, I boarded the next tram and we were away.
How come the Rags can have trams lined up to ferry fans away quickly and yet we have a total lottery of when they turn up.

After the derby, it was a flat fare of £3 to town as well

£16.20 for three adults and a thirty minute wait to experience life as a sardine, or drive and park for free and get home 20 minutes faster. Hmm, decisions, decisions.

Here’s an idea..fucking walk to town you lazy bastards

I do it every game..walk from town..walk back

As for the trams being crowded..it’s a fucking football match..what are you expecting? A buffet car serving vol-au-vents?

Metrolink only has so many units and believe it or not there are other lines on the Biggest tram network in the uk..they put as many doubles as they can on that line on match day..I know..because I have to drive the bastards

There’s not much else you can do with that amount of people all leaving at the same time..as for the suggestion United get more trams..bollocks..it’s the same line..Altrincham Etihads..the Etihad is also serviced by the Ashton Eccles trams..Old Trafford by Bury Altrinchams

People are always going to be squashed in post match..like I said..if you don’t like it..walk

Another note..on the rare occasion I’ve got a tram home from the match I’ve walked to New Islington stop and caught one from there..easily squeezing on with no queue

Like I said..Lazy

Not everyone is capable of walking any length of distance, are they lazy. Gobshite.

How about three or four double decker busses with priority exit from the north car park taking fans to the tram at Central Park on the Vic to Oldham line?
Or those busses going down AT Way then into town along Oldham Road? They could stop at the corner of Swan Street for people wanting Piccadilly then go down Swan Street and Miller street to Victoria. There's also the possibility of busses into town along Bradford Road but that might be more of an issue as there are several busy car parks emptying onto Bradford Road.
