No one serious, thinks we're going to close to 100m.I’d happily pay 50-60m for him as an 8. 100m is crazy

This is Grealish all over again.
A very good player who we will end up paying £100m+ for when his market value is around £60m.
I looked the other week and thought they had a fairly easy run in.Look at the fixture list. I wouldn’t be surprised if Forest dropped points and lost a few games. They need top 5 to be in Europe and if they miss out the fee definitely won’t be anywhere near 100 (not that I think it will anyway)
I’d also have him as our 8—he’s hardworking, covers ground well, and contributes going forward. As long as we don’t overpay—nothing above £50-55M—and most importantly, don’t sacrifice Reijnders for him, I’m all in. Reijnders is a priority. I know we are kind of forced to look at English players for the quota, otherwise I would not even consider him.I’d happily pay 50-60m for him as an 8. 100m is crazy

MGW could be our Bernardo, if Pep decides to let him go, and Reijnders would be the perfect successor to Gündoğan. Both would be massive upgrades and bring real strength to that box-to-box role. A midfield with them in the mix? That’s serious business.
People are comparing MGW to when we signed De Bruyne, Yaya and Silva so it's not the biggest reach on the threadThat's a stretch
I’m a huge Bernardo fan—I know exactly who he is and what he brings, so let’s be clear: MGW is not on Bernardo’s level. Let’s not get carried away with the like-for-like comparisons. That's a stretch
I see your thinking tbh.I’m a huge Bernardo fan—I know exactly who he is and what he brings, so let’s be clear: MGW is not on Bernardo’s level. Let’s not get carried away with the like-for-like comparisons.
What I’m talking about is purely in terms of the position—specifically the midfield role. Yes, I’m fully aware Bernardo is our Swiss Army knife, capable of playing almost anywhere. But if MGW were to come in, I’d much rather see him deployed in the 8 role rather than the 10. He’s got the work rate and engine to put in a serious shift there.
As I mentioned in my earlier post, he wouldn’t be my pick—but since the club is clearly considering him, I’d personally see him more as an 8 rather than a 10. That said, the fee should be sensible—ideally no more than £55M, and if we’re being rinsed, then absolutely no higher than £60M.

You are right it’s not bad at all. I thought it was tricky for some reason.I looked the other week and thought they had a fairly easy run in.
