Morgan Gibbs-White

For the obvious reason that others are currently clearly well ahead of him in his preferred MF position.
We all know Bernie is here this year because he’s captain. But he could go next season which opens up a space. Another year of O’Reilly around the first team and getting minutes when he can just makes him more ready. Eventually he’ll get pissed off though.

But there’s a new deal on the table so there will be reassurances. Not to mention Chelsea were sniffing around

I’ve never liked Gibbs White especially since he went and got Rodders sent off.
Thought he was a twat that day.

If we didn't sign twats then our transfer pool would be very small.

I personally think we miss a bit of that niggly shithousery in the side. Especially when the pretty football isn't working. Need somebody (dare I say, like a Bellingham) who will roll their sleeves up and power through games if the tippy-tappy is failing. Rodri is like that but we need more. Kev was but he's now gone. Foden had it but lost it last year, maybe it'll come back?

Having that type of player in the midfield is a godsend.

No way we are that blinkered after sorting the LB situation out and not the right where we were actually better set at LB with Gvardiol and Ake who could do it whereas the RB situation is a bigger problem?
Wanting to do it and being able to are very different things. If Livramento isn't available which is likely and we can't make space in the NHG list also very likely, then who?

It’s disheartening how quickly some of our fans dismiss players from our own academy. It often feels like Phil Foden has become the sole benchmark - as if a young player reaches his level immediately, they’re deemed not good enough. We saw this with Cole Palmer.

I was at the Super Cup in Athens, in his final appearance for the club, and what stood out most wasn’t just his performance - which, for me, was the best on the pitch that day — but the abuse thrown at him by grown men that day in the City section despite the fact he’d barely had a proper run in the side. Just days later, he was sold to Chelsea, where he’s since become one of the Premier League's best players. And yet, some of our supporters have turned on him, despite the fact he never even wanted to leave the club.

What makes it more frustrating is the contrast in treatment. Players like Oscar Bobb are rightly encouraged and supported, but Palmer who was a local lad who came through the ranks was criticised relentlessly. It’s hard to understand.

Similarly, James McAtee hasn’t done any worse than others in his position this season. In fact his output has arguably been better. Yet he’s regularly singled out, while others seem to escape scrutiny. Even Rico Lewis who has shown plenty of promise, gets targeted at both home and away games by a section of the younger fanbase. It's wrong.

It just feels unjust. We should be supporting our academy graduates not turning on them when they’re still developing. The academy is something to be proud of.
There are intangibles a player has to have to be successful- McAtee has a nose for goal, he has skill- I just don't see the drive and I see in his PL performances a tendency to disappear. I want the kid to succeed, I like him and I was not one of the grown men hurling insults at him. This is a business- you have to leverage your weaknesses with strengths and on many occasion let go of potentially valuable pieces - sometimes you make the wrong choice: Cole Palmer at least at this point was a wrong choice. I'm not throwing the kid to the wolves I'm being realistic, pragmatic. Choices get made that are based on money- not upside and potential.

I think they would have to be creative with the homegrown another way mate? Could see Fernandes come in to be honest

Really did not want this deal to happen. Don’t think he’d is good enough to play regularly and reckon we will pay silly money for him.

The rag bastard wanted to leave for 2 seasons before he eventually did. Fuck him
