Morgan Gibbs-White

He's talking absolute shite lol
Tbf, the interest we showed over the last couple of months seems to have been lukewarm at best, so that may well have made MGW think we weren't all that bothered about signing him. If Spurs turned up saying he's going to be a key player, maybe even captain(?), then I could see why he'd end up preferring them.

Because they've spent £100m?

We see promoted teams spend that much now, its nothing.
As you said yourself, they've got CL. That alone gives them an extra £100m to spend, they're one of the highest revenue generators in the league, they can spend multiple hundreds of millions without having to balance any books.

Just not very Spursy is it?

I feel like we did want him, but got our head turned by reijnders, and/or the plan was to sell a couple of the Uncs to make room, but that was blocked by a certain unnamed bald person.

Nonsense beacuase we will still probably need to sell Gundogan Kovacic and still won't have space for MGW.

Nonsense because gundogan is not leaving lol, and kovacic maybe, maybe not. Pep is not on the same page as fans about these players, pretending he is is delusional.

he is not what we need. Pep would have done to him what he did to Nunes. consider him not good enough for midfield and shoehorn him to either wide role or fullback role.

Forest is in for a hard season based on their business so far and they will be in EL with added fixtures. their best two players are gone now.

You think? Couldn't care less whether he's on the same page of the fans or not. You seem to think he's an idiot and doesn't know what the team needs. That really is nonsense. We need to make room in the squad, you really think Gundogan and Kovacic aren't considered the most likely alongside Reis and Echeverri loans ? You really think Pep alone decides, more nonsense.

Normally we end with a 'shopping list' that includes various backup options in case we can't get what we really want.

It's quite possible that we agreed terms with him and we're aware if the clause, but he's not who we really wanted. Whether that's Reijnders, Cherki or someone totally different I've no idea.
To be fair I’m happy Bernie is staying another year and Reijnders is a top class signing. I think he would have been great here but we will be fine. Especially if means Nico O’Reilly can get minutes in the middle. He will bring a lot of energy.

At first I was a little disappointed. But we’ve got a great team and the more glaring issue is clearly at RB.

I can’t wait for this season and to see how the new guys fit in.

Didn't want him most likely,or we would have.
Most fans don't get that these things are not arbitrary.

Clubs work (make decisions) on the basis of the full cost over a typical 5 year contract.

MGW had a release clause of £60m plus the wages he might want (say £100k per week is £5m a year, 50m over 5 years).

Most big clubs would have wanted him. But do they want him at £110m over 5 years. Probably not. So it comes down to who wants him the most and if that figure is enough to get it done. The player has a say. Spurs wanted him enough to get it done. Time will tell if its good business.
