Mosquitos and bites

Eaten alive in the Scottish Highlands in August, the little fuckers love me. Had worse i have been bitten by a rat, and a non venomous snake.

Isn't it midges rather than mosquitoes? I couldn't believe it. If the weather's windy, you're ok. If it's raining, you're ok. If it's still, and slightly hazy or foggy, they're on your case in industrial quantities, relentlessly, and it's a feeding frenzy. They actually get under your watch strap somehow to bite you there.

Re. mosquitoes. I use “essence de citronelle” in the summer months (don't know if it's the same word in English). A few drops on my pillow case, and some smeared on my ears, neck and forearms at bed time is completely efficacious, I find. I highly recommend it. It does work. You can get it from any over-the-counter chemist's.

A sneakier way, but the best of all(!), is to sleep with someone who has a better blood flow than you. It's absolutely foolproof. You wake up in the morning without a bite on you, and the poor woman (or whoever) is covered with them. Annoys the fuck out of them, though…

I thought i was gettin a bit of immunity into my system the last few days, wrong.
been bit to fk again overnight, really pissing me off now,i'v never been as bad as this,it just spoils your holiday.

Last week in Gorton, I had 4 mosquito bites. They faded away.

This week summat bit my finger on Sunday (maybe on way to or from City Women's game). Little finger swollen up. Been MRI tonight for IV antibiotics and now on tablets for a week.

Every flipper asks me if it was bed bugs. Nope. Unlikely. Highly unlikely.

Citronella oils forever now. Had enough. And lemongrass.

I use DEET. Got into the habit in the army. Tried everything else and it's the only thing that works 100% for me.

50% deet repellent, plug in repellent in hotel room. Anti-histamine 1 week before during and 1 week after every day.

I live by this they eat me alive the feckers.
