most important rags or barca?

For the first time when a question like this is asked I really dont know. Ideally would like to win both but a compromise has to be made, although they have Europe also so they would be in same posistion regarless of who they are playing as everyone has a chance against them these days

Playing United is becoming a foregone conclusion these days, so it would just be another match we would be favourites to win, and would more than likely do so too.

Playing and beating Barca is and always will be more important now, because it is that level of club we are competing for the big trophy - and recognition. Put it this way, those the world over will remember us beating Barca over two legs, thus progressing to the last 8 of the CL than they will us beating united in the least important of the English domestic cups.

Personally I think our name is on that Capital One Cup and as great as it will be to notch up another trophy, regardless of who it is we beat to win it, playing and beating Barca would dwarf it all day long.

Yep.

Beating manyoo isn't quite as special because we expect it. Knocking bloody Barcelona out of the Champions League would be sensational.

Don't get me wrong, should we both get to Wembley and we win, it will be fucking fantastic for the trophy first of all, but the wind ups will be peachy. Thing is though it would be just beating United, again, something we do regularly now.
Beating Barca and as you say, knocking them out, has far more prestige and recognition to it.

A trophy with a chance to humiliate the rags and compound their misery or progress through to the next round of champs league ?

Trophy, all day, every day.
I feel a bit small time for saying it but, for me, it's got to be this.

It isn't small time at all. Far too many Blues haven't seen anywhere near enough silverware.

We can give Barcelona the fright of their lives, hopefully smash United into oblivion and then put all our energies into winning the Premier League once more.

Better to win something than to just fall short in everything.

Gotta be beating United....

Seeing our draw in the FA cup if we beat Blackburn, the domestic treble could definitely be achieved with our squad!

And when you look at Liverpool, United, Madrid, Barca, Juve, Milan, Celtic, Munich... non of them talk about that big game they won once, it's all about trophies!!

If it comes off, this would be the first ever Manchester derby cup final. I can't believe how easily some of you are dismissing it in favour of a second round game in a tournament we're extremely unlikely to win anyway.

Knocking Barca out would be fantastic, but they won't be handing out any trophies for it. So if I have to choose, I'll take the League Cup please, because with just two major trophies to our name in my 34 years on the planet it's silverware we need at the moment not 'prestige'.
