Hmm, the DSG gearbox in my Audi A6 failed completely after a mere 135,000 miles.View attachment 127239
Audi Quattro S1, laid the foundations for modern turbo systems and 4 wheel drive which used mechanical torque vectoring to distribute the power. The VW/Audi DSG and Porsche PDK gearbox can also trace its history back to this car.

Didn’t the Sunbeam Rapier have a record player in it, too?

It was an A6 TDI Ultra with 7 speed automatic box. The mechatronic unit gave up the ghost and the car had to be scrapped as the Audi specialist I used couldn't source a replacement unit. Superb car when it worked.Had a few with DSG gearboxes but never had a problem, currently have one in the wife’s S5 (my old car).
It does make a big difference if it’s the dry clutch version of the DSG, which are known to have some issues. Unfortunately they only use the wet clutch version in more powerful models.
SWMBO chose it ;-)
