I had open heart surgery in 2015. Long story short, I got an infection as a result which led to paricarditis. I thought I was having a heart attack and was rushed to hospital in an ambulance in the middle of the night. Literally 10/10 pain. Anyway, they gave me a suppository which I stuck up my arse and the pain vanished in seconds!
When you have open heart surgery, they literally saw down your sternum vertically. For months afterwards, the two halves grind together whenever you move. The pericarditis was worse.
I once was run over by a Transit van and broke my arm badly in three places. The pericarditis was worse.
