Mourinho or Mancini

We are not hitting the heights that we did prior to Xmas last year. I'll go as far as saying we were poor from Dec to April last year and only perked up for the last 6 games

Poor for half-a-season and still champions, it's a bloody miracle. I honestly don't know what standards some of you lot are expecting. Wins are being regularly talked down as not good enough/lucky/fluke.

How is the weather in la-la land?

It's been raining toys and rattles all day long, I suspect.

What pisses me off most about all this is how the haters seem to be incapable of recognising that the qualifying stages of the CL are no bugger's idea of a level playing field. Not for one minute do I think that Bacon or Wenger would have got their respective teams through a group containing the champions of Germany, the champions of Spain and the champions of Holland.

FFS the cry babies need to get a grip.

Forza Mancini

Yeah but we're the champions of England Pam. A league that is recognised for being the best in the world.

I'm afraid that argument doesn't wash with me. There are loads of managers that would have at least got us 1 win in that group.

Namely?

realistically or anyone?

Mourinho, Baconchops, Guardiola, Ancelotti, Hiddink.

Need I go on?

Err, Klopp and De Boer you've forgotten too.

"The special one" is not the type of coach to stick around for too long. He is like Cocaine - he might make you feel invincible for a while, but can't sustain it in the long run, he will get bored and move on, or get himself in trouble with the board, fans, media, etc.

Key to sustainable growth is getting a world class manager and sticking with him for the long run.
I think we have such a manager, he just needs to be less stubborn.

How long is "the long run", in your view?

Changing as often as Chelsea have been doing is clearly potty (although I have heard it argued that it works, i.e. produces results and although I don't really agree, there is an argument to be had).

But Guardiola lasted 4 years at Barca. Rijkaard 5. Of the top clubs I can only think of SAF who has lasted longer. Most CL winning sides have done it changing managers more frequently than this.

Honestly, I am not concerned with European success, I think that will come with sustained domestic success. My opinion is that as long as Mancini can keep winning things every other year keep him, as long as City are making it to the CL, keep him. I wouldn't compare Mancini to Guardiola or Rijkaard, until City have a world class youth system like Barca - which is hopefully in progress but will take years to come to fruition. SAF is the exception, but he shouldn't be.

So:

a) Success

b) Failure

Moo

Or (c) Vestibule

Your choices are meaninglessly simplistic.
Meaninglessly simplistic. So do we need a convoluted, quantum mechanical equation to assess if our manager's tenure at the club has been a success or a failure?

Moo

Er, how about a few more choices, Einstein?

Would this be the same bacon chops who lost the title to Mancini and crashed out of the Hyde United CL group last season?

Would it be the same Ancelotti currently doing an unspeakably shit job at PSG,

Would it be the same Mourinho that haslost tne Spanish title with five months of the season to go?

Get a reality check.

Watch the last 4 games of last season we aren't playing differently to that now! We were patient passed it around and the moment came we scored the only deference I can see is the chances we are missing..

bet you were bouncing when we blew that lead and let the RAGs steal a march last season - Shit happens.

Luckily for us they bottled it and we pulled through but nearly fucked things up the last day
