i just can understand the point in moving the away fans?

To get more singers together to generate more noise, currently the singing section is too small and their chants don't catch on most of the time. Any song that the South Stand joins in with is usually out of synch because of the away fans in the middle. It's really very feeble most of the time

I also don't think they should be given such a good position and such a big chunk of our best stand. Stick em in the corner like at Arsenal.

Moving the away fans along a block or 2 would still allow evryone who wants to sit next to them to do so (without moving much) but also give us much more of a core support of singers to get a better atmosphere going
we have shown that with the away fans where they currently are, that a superb atmosphere can be generated, like the hamburg game.

and as regards to moving season ticket holders, i doubt that a fan who has sat in the same seat ever since we moved to CoMS would take to kindly to having to move to another part of the ground to accomodate away fans perminantly. i know i wouldnt.

a great atmosphere can be generated as things are now

Cos everton spurs newcastle all have grounds were the fans are hidden and the atmosphere at them grounds isn't much cop.
If your playing a big team the atmosphere us usually good as everyone is up for it, fulham at home sunday who's bashing the bishop over that since the fixture list came out.
This apply's to all grounds up and down the country.

Well obviously on the really big games a good atmosphere is likely to be present no matter what, but it's the smaller games where we struggle. It's poor when 111 get a bit of a song going and it slowly creeps to the south stand who start to sing, by which time it's out of sync and then the song just grinds to a halt. We get nowhere with it. If evryone was together we'd have a solid end for evryone to get them going.

I've no doubt that some people will whinge about being moved, even though it could only be across a single block and stood with the same people, but you'll always get stubborn types and an improved atmosphere might help them to come round to the idea. Now I'm not saying that all games will be bouncing like Hamburg, but surely anyone would agree that rather than having a couple of pockets of seperated singers singing their own songs, isn't as good as having them all together and in sync?

We're gonna be at this stadium til you, I and evryone else reading this thread dies, so we might as well get it right, even if it's only a bit of tinkering.

i agree with parts of what your saying, but i look at other grounds in the country where all the singers are together like the swamp, anfield, villa park and to be honest for 'smaller' games the atmosphere isnt great at those either.

in terms of atmosphere, i honestly dont think it will have as bigger inpact as some seem to be making out on here

But do you think it will make a positive impact?
i dont honestly think it will have a positive or negative impact in terms of atmosphere.

and it will only have a negative impact in terms of the clubs relationship with certain fans who will have to move seats in order to move the away fans

That's certainly true, unless the club sweeten them up somehow, even then...

In the big games the place is rocking. In the smaller ones it isnt so much, but then again The Kop, and Stretford end arent the most atmospheric places when playing the smaller teasm are they? I have sat in my seat next to the away fans since we moved, and would hate to have to change seat, as im sure would most around me.

Only possible thing i can think off is to move the singing section to the other corner to join up with the south stand. But then again they might not want to move. People who dont go to the games or dont sit in the area which will be affected shouold not be voting simple as.
