Moving Away Fans / SSL3 /2 All City Fans.

There are about 1000 in each block on the third tier, obviously they vary, so they get roughly 1,500 as they get 1.5 upper tier blocks.

Using very round numbers 900 lower (600 * 1.5), 600 2nd (400 * 1.5).

When City get ticket requests the club generally take the lower 2, and it is sale or return providing they sell half in the block, but when it comes to the 3rd tier they were offered the full block first and had to sell at least half or pay 15,000+ plus if they take they 1,000 block and don't sell at least half.

City then sold the third tier at normal prices so it worked out profitable for the club to do the pressure tactic. Now City have agreed to only sell them at £30 to home fans so there is less pressure on the away club and they seem to be given more time to sell their allocation. The unintended consequence of City Matters pushing for £30 on the 3rd tier away section for home fans means it is far less likely to be sold to home fans.
Yes you are absolutely correct, I had forgotten that I hadn't audited the top tier blocks when I was doing this analysis in 2019, as it was taking too long so I had used some quick estimates in those blocks. I'll correct my figures.

113: 568
114: 690 (full block, not just the away allocation) - 310?
213: 403
214: 414 (ditto) - 186?
313: 1086
314: 997 (ditto) - 447?

So looks like just under half each of 114/214/314 are allocated roughly 310/186/447 respectively.

I did a very quick seat count on block 110 and block 111. My eyes were going cross eyed, so I might have missed a few pale grey seats? :-) I got 439 seats on block 110, and 548 seats on block 111. I’ll double check the counts tomorrow to see if those counts are correct. They definitely may not be.

So, going by your count and counts by other posters, we’re going to get nowhere near having enough in those level 1 blocks for the away supporters.

This is where the ideas falls down.

Until somebody does an accurate and comprehensive count on all the blocks, we won’t know for certain what the actual seat difference is. Half of block 114 also needs to be added to the count. If the seats don’t add up, then fair enough. The minimum PL away seat allocation is 3000.

I’ve not read all the posts on this thread, but the obvious no no to this idea is segregation, not so much inside the ground, but outside, there would be no option other than having fans mixing to access the upper tiers, unless all away fans entered via the away section as it is now,but then there would be issues with fans leaving the stadium, just my perspective on the idea

Not if the person in front is stood up
While this is true, but is that not the case now? With people standing? How would a person sat down feel about a person stood behind them falling all over them during a goal celebration?

Surely the rails are needed purely for safety reasons? Most European teams where safe standing isn't a thing like in Spain have rails on upper tiers for this reason

I love them in the south stand, feel much safer for the reasons stated above and also I don't smash my shins against the back of the seat Infront when we scored anymore

I think the club should make an effort to try and find otlut how many people would be interested in moving to a safe standing area.
If they did a survey and found 25% of people would prefer to be in safe standing, they could then increase the numbers available to be in line with what people want.
However, that could potentially mean moving thousands of people who don't want to be in a safe standing area and lots of people are precious about 'their seat.'
