MP Sir David Amess murdered in Essex

No, not really.
As a motivating factor for the person who caused his death such comments would be irrelevant. I can't recall any MPs calling for Islamic jihad.

There was appalling rhetoric in the referendum campaign in the lead up to Jo Cox's murder, but it didn't radicalise the perpetrator, he was already a white supremacist lunatic with long standing hatred against people with liberal and left wing views.

Fucking pointless. Like Bluejon said this anger over politics needs to stop.
Agreed, but already in this thread theres words like ‘hate’ we've MP’s calling others scum. It really does need to be toned down totally. It’s gotten out of hand and as you said earlier, and is often seen on any thread on here, you’re not entitled to a different view point without getting tonnes of abuse.
RIP

No, not really.

Maybe you're right but if people are going to insist on drawing connections between language used by politicians and horrific events like this, i'd have thought our Prime Minister's islamophobic rhetoric would be more relevant to a case like this than Angela Rayner saying it's scummy of the government to let kids go hungry.

I'm not a massive fan of hers but people pinning this on her in this thread from the outset is ridiculous and completely unhelpful in helping us to understand and try to avoid more of the same in the future.

Two things happen when a politician like this is murdered.

1. No one has a bad word to say for the victim.

2. People's pre-existing political prejudices are bolted on to the murderer and his motives, often at variance with the evidence.

Number one is perfectly understandable, it's the way of things.

Number two is pathetic.
