I’m very disappointed that he has accepted the knighthood. I have great respect for him and he has probably accepted it on behalf of the postmasters who have been treated so badly.

Alan Bates knows it was the state that went after him and the victims. The state that represents the crown. The crown that patronises the ‘little people’ with honours and the same crown that will make sure no one goes to prison.

If I were a postmaster I’d be disappointed tonight.

He now carries even more weight and is not going to give up any time soon. Well deserved award as far as I am concerned (Slurr I don’t think so).
