Those that went to prison wouldn’t still be classed as unspent convictions I don’t think, it’s normally up to about seven years post the sentence. Agree with the point though.

Obviously it's a grey area that's often overlooked, to the peril of some. Mostly rendering insurance invalid if a claim need be made.
Interestingly there's a disparity in the time frame insurance companies see as 'spent' and the official, legal requirement of 'spent'.

its been 2 and a half years since I retired so a bit out of practise but just remembered any statement, any declaration, loan application etc - when you sign it that takes place under the section which says stuff along the lines of " I the undersigned confirm I have read and understand this statement to be the truth" - then you sign it and print your name. Why would a senior investigator do what he did ffs

I've not been retired long, and I do know that an official Witness Statement should be your statement that you have made and signed.

You have to be fully aware and have a good knowledge of it's content.

A major mistake this.

Contrary to legal advice presented above,
the CPS now admit they were involved in 99 sub postmaster prosecutions - 11 of which were under Kier Starmer's tenure as Head of the CPS.
Also that the evidence for 2/3's of the case files had since been lost or destroyed!
What a surprise. Normally code for we knew the evidence was dodgy so got shot of it so the buck couldn't return to hurt us too badly.

As I said before it's all compulsive viewing. But I would start with the car crash that is Andrew Winn. He's a hopelessly over promoted ex postie. He is central to the cover up and some of the documents you will see will make your blood boil.

The government seems very keen on recovering most if not all of the compensation money from Fujitsu. It will be interesting to know how the PO:
- Set up and deliver user acceptance testing (UAT) [their responsibility not Futisu's] The clue is in the term user.
- How the PO decided to accept a system with such a huge live snag list into a trial rollout.
- How the subsequent trial rollout was deemed to be a success when it clearly wasn't.
- How the system could then be extended to every PO in the land with a snag list pretty much unchanged by the trial.

Further it will be interesting to know how Fujitsu can be blamed for the cover up. Yes they provided key witness statements but - I suspect these were requested with valed threats about the "future relationship" between the PO and Fujitsu.

I strongly suspect The Royal Mail executive (owners of the PO till 2012) had a lot to do with strong arming the PO into early delivery due to project cost overruns. I suspect they have a lot to answer for - more so than either Fujitsu or the PO.

i am intigued as to what caused ITV to break ranks from the normally solid cabal that is the MSM who have been MIA in all the other cover-ups. First rock in the landslide ? Not holding my breath, too often, worse things have been uncovered and smothered by diversions and "plausible" denials, legalese semantics and then silence.
