While everyone is playing politics over who's to blame. The victims are still waiting for compensation and justice....can we leave the labor did this, Tories did that at the door.

Prosecutions started in 2000, Alan Bates (you might of heard of him?) was accused of 2 instances of false accounting in 2000 and was dismissed by POL in 2003!
As I have said countless times in this thread I have been aware of the wrongdoings since 2003!
The JFSA was in full swing by 2009 and there had been numerous articles about the scandal before that date, the first big expose by Computer Weekly was published in 2009.
Your suggestion that nothing was known before 2010 is an insult to the nearly 700 sub-postmasters prosecuted during that time! Their lives were ruined long before the tories came to power.

This now needs to be taken out of Parliaments hands, given to a specialist police team and immediate action taken. The trouble is, the only ones that can order that are the corrupt politicians.

The cops allegedly started an investigation in 2020. I know we've had Covid but 4 years is rather a long time to do fuck all. I assume that they have been told to leave it. Why else has nothing been done in 4 years.
This latest bombshell puts the Government at the heart of a conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. I don't want MP's spending a fortune on an inquiry that stops every 3 months for a break. I want offices raided, files, documents, data sticks and anything else seized and I want people arrested.
And just to repeat. Yes, I believe the police are not taking action because they have been told not to.
For reference, I don't believe that Gareth Williams who worked for MI6 stepped fully into a Holdall, put it into a bath, padlocked it and then accidentally died. The coroner said he was unlawfully killed the police said it was an accident. I wonder who told them to say that.

Why not because the cops originally said he'd committed suicide despite the padlock being locked from the outside.
They (cough) 'investigated' this death for 3 years and still dispute what the coroner ruled. There was a brilliant documentary about this case. It is quite clear the police were led by the government. It is entirely believable that the police are taking no proper action in relation to the post office because the government have told them not to.

That’s why they should just quash all the convictions. Maybe a few who were at it will get wrongly acquitted, but seriously?

The computer system that all of them were convicted by was flawed. Therefore all those convictions are unsafe. End of.

That serves the best interests of justice.
