Mr. Cook, Bellers understands loyalty....you should try it.

I think it's about time that usacitizen and some other posters moved on. When will the carping about the necessary dismissal of Mark Hughes end? It has been reckoned, by the owners, that after eighteen months in the job and spending in excess of £200 million to produce his own team, he was failing.

We should rejoice in the fact that the owners, chairman and CEO are no longer prepared to accept mediocrity. Haven't we, as fans, suffered long enough and shouldn't we be looking forward to our time in the sun? The chance of titles, cups and european football beckons.

Whilst Garry Cook is no stranger to the odd cock-up, he is, as other posters have pointed out, available to the fans at all times both privately and at supporters functions. He never hides, as witnessed after the Bluemoon do and turning up at the Boxing Day fixture and Mancini press conference when most of the pathetic press suggested he would duck-out.

Let's stop the knocking and get behind all the players, Roberto, Khaldoun, Garry and everybody else at the club, who I am sure will lead us on to the best period in our famous club's history.

The vast majority of City fans felt otherwise,so it would be better that people like you stopped starting threads about how great mancini is & how shit Hughes was. Because as we all know you & them will be the 1st ones to get on his back after a couple of losses.

Your opinion mate, but never forget you are the minority, our owner has done it so we move on & support the new guy until the next new guy comes in.

You're Correct bluemanc - it's only my opinion but you have got it wrong if you think the majority wanted Hughes to stay as manager.

And, by the way, I didn't say Hughes was a bad manager. I just think he was out of his depth at our club - just my opinion!

Anyway, we're both on the same side! All the best for the new year!

Yes we are on the same side, let's hope we both have a Happy New Year........i ain't got the majority thing wrong though:) BUT it doesn't matter we will never know what would have happened because our owner has brought his own man in.

I'd have Cook at the club over you every day of the week!

Keep it up Cooky lad, you're doin a great job!
He might do a good job behind the scenes (dunno because it's errr... behind the scenes) but as a public representative of the club he's an embarrassment.
Many people would strongly disagree with you .it all a matter of opinion & perception

Cook is the fall guy.

If Cook wasn't there to deflect the criticism then the press would be having a pop at Mancini and ADUG.

Instead Cook takes the flak leaving others to do their jobs with less interruptions and pressure.

It's a common practice in the business world and also the sports world. You never hear Ferguson slating his players, he protects them often at his own expense. It's good management, something we're not used to at all at our club.

If there is ONE single thing we can deduce from the events of the past week, it is that Hughes was now so CLEARLY not up to the job. Thank GOD the management had the balls to get rid of him.

Loyalty to a sub-standard manager, I can do without.
Sub-standard loyalty to a manager is what you do best chippy, don't knock it.

My loyaly is to my club, not to any particular manager. I want the best for my club and if that means getting rid of a substandard manager then I am all for it. I really don't see the problem with this.

I don't either,it is your opinion,it's just the way you suggested anyone who supported the last manager was a sub-human fuckwit who should go & support someone else now he's gone, very harsh.

My apologies to anyone who I inadvertently offended, if there is anyone.

I think it's a fair point that we can *already* see the comparison between a competent manager (it remains to be seen just how good/very good/brilliant Mancini will prove to be) vs an incompetent manager as per MH.

Clear ambition
Not constantly downplaying expectations in order to make mediocrity seem acceptable
Tactical awareness
Willingness to make changes swiftly
Open mind about players and their abilities (Javier who?)

Need I go on?

The more I think about it, MH was really rubbish. OK in front of a camera, decent in the domestic transfer market. That's about it really. Rubbish at everything else.

I think that cook from time to time shows his lack of experience in the footballing world, where the media prints everything you say and even more of what you dont say. The Kaka thing, he regreats but im sure he got that emotional because it was going to be a huge signing and it was almost nearly done when as cook says "they bottled it", he should not have come out and said that and should have signed onto the trusted bluemoon site and posted a thread to vent his frustration (obviously under an alias) However he has made a shreud move with mancini, getting a name in just before the window opens, where im sure Hughes had his eye on spending a large amount. Cook has done this for the best of the club not because he wants to be the most disliked man in football. He has a tough job to do and has made a well thought out decision regarding the future of this football club and not just one man and his friends. As for the change cook has made I like the look of what Mancini has done in two games, we play with the fluencey that hughes brought to the club but with the more stable back four, along with Given beginning to comand hius area, richards looking like he could recapture his early career form and the ability to recognise when tactics arnt quite working.
I think cook will iron out his mistakes, and am sure he will take us on to bigger and better things as he is not afraid to do what is right for the football club.
