Mr. Cook, Bellers understands loyalty....you should try it.

Very difficult for Bellers to honor MH (let's not pretend that the last three wins were all because we have a new coach who looks good in a scarf), and at the same time commit himself to Mancini and the future.

If there is ONE single thing we can deduce from the events of the past week, it is that Hughes was now so CLEARLY not up to the job. Thank GOD the management had the balls to get rid of him.

Loyalty to a sub-standard manager, I can do without.

I think from reading the OP is from the USA, it probably looked to him that Hughes was doing ok.

To those of us that go to games, it was obvious there were major problems not being addressed, and things were getting worse. Mancini has done more tactically in two games than Hughes did in 18 months.

As for Cook, I would like to know if any other chief execs in the premiership spend as much time at club q & a nights, or supporters club branch meetings. He is never one to shy away from answering questions from supporters.

Yes he has made mistakes, but he has also shaken up the club and made it so much better. He is playing an integral part in the development of the business side, which will become more apparent in 2010.

If the press did not have a vendetta against him, nobody would have any issues with him.

Get on board and enjoy the ride.

ditto. you can talk to the bloke and get some sense off him. he isnt up his own arse like some would be.

He does better PR than the rest of them because he really believes it. Not just a pro. He is a decent man.

Have you not watched the last two games?

Now you can see what a real manager can do with these players.

Cook's a prick but not for the reasons you make out. I suspect if it was down to Cook we'd still have Hughes and be 4 points worse off.

I think it's about time that usacitizen and some other posters moved on. When will the carping about the necessary dismissal of Mark Hughes end? It has been reckoned, by the owners, that after eighteen months in the job and spending in excess of £200 million to produce his own team, he was failing.

We should rejoice in the fact that the owners, chairman and CEO are no longer prepared to accept mediocrity. Haven't we, as fans, suffered long enough and shouldn't we be looking forward to our time in the sun? The chance of titles, cups and european football beckons.

Whilst Garry Cook is no stranger to the odd cock-up, he is, as other posters have pointed out, available to the fans at all times both privately and at supporters functions. He never hides, as witnessed after the Bluemoon do and turning up at the Boxing Day fixture and Mancini press conference when most of the pathetic press suggested he would duck-out.

Let's stop the knocking and get behind all the players, Roberto, Khaldoun, Garry and everybody else at the club, who I am sure will lead us on to the best period in our famous club's history.

The vast majority of City fans felt otherwise,so it would be better that people like you stopped starting threads about how great mancini is & how shit Hughes was. Because as we all know you & them will be the 1st ones to get on his back after a couple of losses.
necessary dismissal of Mark Hughes end
Your opinion mate, but never forget you are the minority, our owner has done it so we move on & support the new guy until the next new guy comes in.

I think the majority of City fans wanted Hughes Out by the time he went.

Without a shadow of doubt the vast majority of the knowledgeable ones had lost all confidence in him.

For all the fuck ups Cook made in that press conference, as I recall he too honoured Hughes and committed himself to Mancini and the future.

Fair point--he did both, but Cook's actions beforehand spoke louder. Its not what he did. Its what he didn't do. He never got us, or Hughes, ready for the change. He never said...new rules...one more draw and your gone.

My problem is that we were all told top six is good enough. I bought the idea that we were building something for the longterm--with Hughes an unfinished product as part of the package. I was happy to take the Carling cup this year and the Europa league. Hughes was the young home grown manager who would be given the time to learn how to work at that level... but that proved to be untrue. Now we are all about Champions League Football and success NOW.

Hey if we keep winning like this, I'm not going to regret that decision when I saw Joe Corrigan do something inhumanly brave to support this team. But I miss richard dunne, and I think Mark hughes deserves some credit for the last three wins, and I don't want us to become part of that petulance you see in rag fans where anything but a win is a bad week.

....i think there's a lot of things said and done behind closed doors and its in the best interest of the fans and the club not to speculate on such aspects we may or may not know..

Who has Cook been disloyal towards?

Hughes had a job description which he was failing to meet so he was sacked. It happens. Get over it. In return, as City fans, we've got 6 points and 2 clean sheets from the last 2 games. So, thank you for that Cook.

Why do we always need a scapegoat?

What if Bellamy plays badly for a few games and Garrido scores again next game? Bellamy will be shit according to most on here and Garrido will be the greatest ever player to pull on the sky blue.
