Mr. Jack Rodwell

Rodwell had a good game and showed the bags of potential he has. Good on the ball, great athlete and can tackle well. His positioning some times was slightly wrong, but that will come with experience. He also got a bit to carried away and should have released the ball earlier. Like with any young player learning the midfield role he sometimes is too careless with possession and this could be costly. All in a good signing. Not yet ready to play in the most important games, but will keep improving.

To earn brownie points, you really need to post a pic of his lady;

Pretty sure Barry wasnt as good at 21 years old as Rodwell is now but of course there is room for improvement in two years we will se how good Rodwell can be.
Doubt he will get many playing time this year Garcia will be starting much of the time or Barry if he is fit.
Now he could play as Barry out, Garcia just came yesterday. But if he will live with his chances ha can be good for us.

LOL. England's DM for the next ten years and it's a surprise to some.

Fair play to both J-rod [apparently] and my fellow citizens, who have the best of taste, of course.

Glad someone started a thread about Rodwell. I think he has settled in perfect not scared to go in for a header, try's to tackle players rather than standing off and good going forward.
Quality bit of business bringing him in

I was impressed with Rodwell always looking for the ball. Giving it easy. His yellow card wasnt a yellow card won the ball clean. As for were or how he does I think he will grow into the team and be hard to move from the team. Barry's days are numbered for me. This injury will be the begining of the end for him. He struggles coming back from knocks over the last few seasons when he got one. So today was good to see Jack play well I hope he keeps progressing.

It was a fine tackle, won the ball, and then got a yellow. Too good for Halsey, ref's just don't understand.

Looking assured in the middle. Couple of dicey moments, but he's 21 and can learn from the best.

He will be vital later in the season against better sides. For instance, there's no way that RM will go in with 4 forwards in Madrid. Garcia will hold, with J Rod and Yaya in the middle allowing Yaya to bomb on when he can. Whether he plays 2 up front, or leaves out Nasri is his only real decision.

Played well today,he's very dependable.

He could possibly take the game by the horns abit more as he appears to be playing a cautious game at present, probably just a confidence thing because i believe there is plenty more to come from him.

A very good signing,i'm more than happy with him.

Going to be a class act. Very impressed so far. When he's settled he'll grow in confidence and we'll start see him gambling and running forward more. Lots to come from this boy

He was very solid today in a position where a young player can be made to look bad. Glad to see him not get unlucky today like he did against Liverpool.

I would love for him to take more risks in the next few matches. He certainly has it in his locker compared to de Jong/Barry moving forward.

Had a very assured and competent game today. That tackle he got wrongly booked for was fucking immense.

Like in the Southampton game (barring his mistake) he did the simple things really well, played tidily and read the game very well.

A very nice string to the squad bow.

He will mate, at the moment he's trying to do everything right and not too risky.

great peice of business and i hope yaya brings the best out of his bombing run talent, can anyone remember the goal he scored against the rags whilst at everton? if you havent youtube it, he ripped them to bits.

A true understudy for Yaya. Physically he's got all the attributes and technically he's not far off. Probably not a popular view but for me he's a much better player than Nigel. He may not have the experience, but he's already much closer to being a complete player.

Early days of course but I've got very high hopes for him.
