Stood in the chippy last night and one person comes in an orders a chip barm then five minutes later someones else orders a chip muffin my head was spinning i had to leave its all getting a little confusing now

Why didn't you just order something and leave like everyone else? Hanging around in chip shops should be discouraged.

He didn't know whether he wanted a chip barm or a pie barm.

It's almost going global this question of the decade.

It was in the bury programme from yesterdays game, in Q&A with a player, Nathan Cameron,

Q) When your down chippy, is it a chip barm or a chip muffin ?

A) "Easy it's a chip muffin every day "

you'll find if you go in a chippy and the menu says muffin the barmy lot will say muffin as they have no conviction in their belief in the word where a muffin person will go in a chippy that the menu says barm and still say muffin as they know the one true word.

on that note though I call a chip butty a chip muffin but a bacon sarnie a bacon barm as breakfast muffins are too small for a bacon sarnie with hp

Had a thought on this the other night while purchasing some Donner meat accompanied by some bread. (i was drunk in my defence)

Now to me that is a Donner barm, as it was on the chip shop* menu. Can any of you Muffinites honestly tell me they would ask for a Donner muffin because that seems unholy to me.

*This was in 'Mr Chips' South Reddish for those interested.
