Muffin or Barm

I am Manchester born and bread (forgive the pun) it’s always been a barm a muffin is a cake

Muffins are American cakes alright, but you go to any self-respecting cafe, supermarket, bakery they sell those posh bakery items called English muffins, and then there's the oven bottom variety. And then we have those from across the channel trying to get in on the act by shoving 'burgers on a brioche' down our gullets, FFS. Now a brioche is a cake!
