If I’m completely honest, there was a moment. Not where I thought it was a muffin, just when I thought that maybe there’s a lot of decent people out there who called it a m****n. Tonight though, the only comparison I can think of is Brazil v Germany in the semi final. It felt like a potential classic but actually it became a bit embarrassing. It’s felt like that from day one. Don't you mean cake tin?Case closed mucka ; )
If you don’t mind, I’ll swerve taking advice from the Chinese on culinary matters. The local chinese chippy says muffins and has proper chippy curry sauce not that english or irish curry sauce that is weak as piss.
For that reason alone their opinion trumps tonys and the rest.
Muffinites must detest chocolate chip muffins because they put a serious dent in their argument.
I can imagine them muttering under their breath every time someone mentions a chocolate chip cake at a party - “would anyone like a muffin?”
“Fuck’s sake, that’s not a muffin. You put chips on a muffin.”
“Well what do you put chocolate chips in?”
“Fuck off.”
Party atmosphere ruined.
Meanwhile, us Barmsters continue without a care in the world.
Chinese chippy curry sauce is the best thing any chippy sells, a poxy arguement over the name of the bread you may ocasionally buy becomes irrelevant when chips and curry is ordered.

Scraping the barrel here. “It must be a muffin because a muffin is a bun but it sounds like a bum. It’s all the Americans’s fault.”Chocolate chip buns. BUNS, ffs. Muffin has got to be one of those fuckin' annoying Americanisms that cafes over here take up so quickly to keep apace with a handle on the latest linguistic aberrations. i think the Yanquis looked for another word for bun 'cos it sounds too similar to bum. If they were, say, in Greenwich Village and their mind was wandering and they asked for two bums they might not get what they thought they were ordering.
