Muhammed Ali RIP

Personally I don't think being "The Greatest" at punching people's lights out is anything to be proud of, just my honest opinion, not meaning to be disrespectful. That said its obvious he meant a lot to many people and I can acknowledge its a very sad day. RIP.
I think you need to get back in your pear tree and zip that beak up.
Why come on the thread and come out with such a shite post.
Ali was and is loved and respected by the world over. Regardless of him punching people's lights out he was the champ and one of the greatest boxers and entertainers in the ring.
Had a good innings and is now at peace.
Very sad.

Guess it was his time, another icon passing this year. He was the face of boxing, many have come and gone but he will alqays be remembered.

If there is an afterlife, I would hope he and Frazier both are at peace with each other.

He was to boxing what Pele was to football as an inspiration to others. Ali was the man who really started self-promotion and huge paydays off. Many have followed his path, Ray Leonard and Mayweather for example. That brash and forthright attitude, not arrogant but utterly confident in their abilities.

Sad time, guess that final bell has finally rung.

R.I.P Clay/Ali

I believe there is absolute nothingness after we depart.

Billions upon billions of people live their lives as though there is always something better to come in the next life.

Muhammad Ali lived enough for ten life times, the true embodiment of being true to himself, flawed, like all of us, but up there as a truly great human being, because of the mark and joy he has left around the globe.

His greatest triumph is his battle with Parkinson's.

He didn't let it beat him, he went every round, the final bell just comes for each and every one of us, in the end.

Ali, thank you.

The Greatest.

A gentleman and great role model.never met him personally but know a few people who had n they all were nothing but complimentary about him.fought on a lot of different fronts not just in the ring.

Rest in peace Ali.

I think you and others who gang up on posters for not following the line need to zip it.

Muhammad Ali paid a heavy price for his chosen career, he developed the symptoms of Parkinson's in his mid 40's and no one doubts it was directly related to his boxing, not just that, in his later boxing years as "floating like a bee" was no longer an option for him, he adopted the rope-a-dope technique which was designed to exhaust his opponent, but Ali took enormous punishment in the process.

You're probably not aware but last week a Mexican bullfighter died of his injuries having been gored by a bull, in some sports the price paid can be very high and Ali paid his.

There is nothing wrong in a poster drawing people's attention to this when a boxer dies, particularly when there are posters in here who praise his battle with Parkinson's but conveniently omit why he had it.

RIP Muhammad Ali.

Perhaps a controversial comment, but I think Mike Tyson was the greatest boxer ever. Scumbag of a human being, but no heavyweight has ever dominated boxing in such a devastating fashion as Tyson imho.

There is a debate to be had about who is the greatest ever boxer. However a lot of older boxing men from the US say that it's no question, no doubt, no debate; it's Sugar Ray Robinson, by a mile! (Ali himself said that was true even though he used to say he was the greatest, he's said in interviews that p4p Sugar Ray Robinson was really).

The modern day argument seems to be Ali/Tyson.

But for me there's no doubt about what Ali certainly was - the greatest sportsman ever!

I won't be saying "RIP" because there's no resting in peace when you're dead, you just cease to live and that's it, but a tribute to the champ should be had for what he achieved in sport, life and the personality he had. A great man!

Marciano might have an argument with you over that and his record remains unequaled. RIP Ali.
