Muhammed Ali RIP

Simply the greatest.

He transcended sport and became an icon for African Americans. At a turbulent time in world history he had the courage to oppose the Vietnam war and he stood up for his people with pride and great dignity.

What a legend. There will never be another like Muhammad Ali.

Personally I don't think being "The Greatest" at punching people's lights out is anything to be proud of, just my honest opinion, not meaning to be disrespectful. That said its obvious he meant a lot to many people and I can acknowledge its a very sad day. RIP.
Not the place soft lad.

A great man that transcended his sport and helped change his country.

Just what I was going to say. He wasn't a brand like Woods, Hamilton and Beckham and wasn't frightened of standing up for his principles.

Marciano might have an argument with you over that and his record remains unequaled. RIP Ali.
Sugar Ray fought 200 times, yes, TWO HUNDRED. And won 173 of them, 108 by KO. Before he started to dip he won 133 of his first 134 fights, 75 of his first 76 professional fights. He still went on to fight 60 odd times after that when he was past it, more than most fighters fight in their whole career, and still won most of them.

Brilliant pics

Thank you perfect fumble

Marciano was my boxing hero but Joe Louis was the best heavyweight imo.

Muhammad Ali took boxing to the next level and brought things to the ring never seen before. You have to respect the man for refusing to go too war, and his beliefs.
Marciano was never an Ali fan telling Angelo Dundee 'he talks to much'. However, when they shot the 'phantom fight' in a wharehouse in Miami after both had retired, Dundee said they would spend hours in the hotel room talking politics, and how they could make the world a better place.
Without doubt the most recognised sportsman that ever lived.

Rip Champ.

apologies for bold txt sent from dodgy phone.

R.I.P. The King.

A great humanitarian as well as boxer and civil rights activist. I've been listening to the radio all morning and one great deed that seems to be over looked is The Greatest's role is getting hostages freed from Iraq.
