Does anyone know if the Oktoberfest tents will be up?

Spoke to a girl I know who lives there tonight and she said they have been preparing for weeks and yes they should be up.

I need to book a good hotel for me and my mate, clean, cheap, near station, anyone any recs from last time?

Las time I went, there was 4 of us, stayed in a 4 person room at the 4You Hostel just next to the train station. I wouldn't recommend it though if you weren't staying with other people. There are loads of dead cheap ones around that road as well.

This time I staying in a 4* in West Munich called Leonardo hotel. It's nearer to the Oktoberfest tents - hence my question earlier. Managed to get it for just under £100 a night on booking.com and a few hundred yards from an S-bahn/U-bahn? station.

Nobody from the West Yorkshire City branch were bothered about going to Munich . I think a lot of City supporters are getting a bit bored with these European trips . I also think the prices are expensive . If you went to Munich , Moscow and Rome for all that u could go to Australia .

Kidding right? Champions league draw is like my Christmas day! Don't think I'll ever get bored of seeing City on the continent, great way to combine my love of City, beer and travelling.

I can't make any this season (Munich would've been the only feasible one but went in December '13 so saving my money for when I leave the country at the end of the month). Hoping we make the later stages as I might be able to coincide my return from backpacking with a last 16/quarter final away day.

Just got the match ticket
for the first time ever I've got direct flights (tues to thurs) / hotel booked / match ticket
look forward to meeting you all over there or in the bar on Tuesday

any hotel tips guys?
stayed in Eurostar Gand Central last time but its so expensive this time :-(

We are in Hotel Italia which I booked last night but its now full.

Even a girl I know who lives over there had trouble trying to find me something as due to Oktoberfest that coming weekend prices are just plain daft.

Getting up at 4am to drink insipid lager for a couple of days and watching a slow game isn't the best experience on repeat.
