Must see documentaries..

After just finishing “The Queens’s Gambit”, it inspired me to rewatch an excellent doc I saw a few years ago - “Bobby Fischer Against The World”.

It’s well worth a watch and if you don’t know too much about Bobby Fischer before watching it, don’t be tempted to Google him first, just dive into the documentary. That way the twists and turns will make it more interesting.

It’s free on YouTube by the way.

Probably already been mentioned and possibly even by me but Hitlers Circle of Evil is very good. Basically telling the story of the rise of the Nazi party after WW1 to the end of WW2 and focusing on Hess, Goebbels, Himmler, Goring, Heydrich, Speer and Bormann. Very informative for anyone with any interest in history.

It’s excellent

‘Searching for the wrong-eyed Jesus’. BBC IPlayer.

Was looking for something to watch over Christmas and came across the above. Jim White, an American singer, goes back to Louisiana. The documentary is around 15 years old but it is a cracking watch. The music is the highlight but it’s really interesting to see the poverty of the place, the folk stories, the odd christians and the amazing scenery.

I’ve watched it three times and really recommend it.
